Good evening. Today is Wednesday, March 18th. Uh, welcome to the Parks and Recreation Commission meeting. Your interest in the business of the Commission is appreciated. If you wish to speak on any of the agenda items, please come forward when the chairperson uh opens the floor to the public on that item. Uh, we will call the meeting to order. Commissioners are present. Perfect. Pledge of allegiance. One nation under God, individual liberty and justice for all. All right. We will now have the open call to the public. Um the open call to the public is for citizens wishing to address the commission on issues within the jurisdiction of the city. Your comments must be limited to three minutes or less unless you are speaking on behalf of a group of citizens. Uh excuse me, unless you are speaking on behalf of a group of citizens present, and the line and the time is then five minutes. At the conclusion of the open to call the public, individual members of the commission may respond to crit excuse me, may respond to criticism made by those who have addressed the commission, may ask staff to review a matter, or may ask the matter to be placed on a future agenda item. Members are restricted by law to not discuss or take action on matters not already on the agenda. Can you guys all hear me? I'm not sure I'm in the process of getting it fixed, otherwise it elevates and raises up with all the fancy stuff. So right now it's broken. Yay. So um my name is Wendy Well, and I am here today to respectfully request your consideration in approving the installation of a portable rollout beach active map, or something along the line basically a wheelcher accessible uh path at rotary art going from the existing cemented handicapped round nearby appear. Uh I brought pictures. If I could ask those out so you guys can kind of get an idea, would that be okay? And then I can tell the breath. Oh let me go to the clerk. No problem. My chair goes back. Yeah, those are the things that we're going to do that way you get an idea. Okay. I'm not an architect, but I I just kind of drew a black line and I took a picture so you could visibly see what I was talking about. But this type of access would provide a safe and reliable pathway for pedestrians, including individuals with uh that use of filters, families, and strollers, and others who may have difficulty navigating blue stand. Currently, accessing the river can be challenging, and at times unsafe used to the instability of the stand user. A roll out map would significantly improve the accessibility and help ensure that all members of our community can enjoy the river safely and come to be a jacket with a map or a pathway, would be designed to be easily installed and making them flexible and cost-effective versus like submit. Um minimize environmental impact while maximizing public benefit. We need to figure out a way to nail them into the ground for the permanent picture so that way you know no one would take them, that it would be the park offering out me. Thank you, Wendy. I'm here talking for Bullhead RC and uh Rotary Park Raceway. Um there's a little bit of a change going on for a little bit of a schedule this weekend. Uh on Saturday, the 21st at the Optimum Center, the old elementary. The they're gonna be having a memorial drag race up there for Dandy, the gentleman that was passed away on the park way. Uh his family's gonna be in town, so uh there's a bunch of the drag race guys are gonna have a memorial race up there for him. Uh and the same time we're gonna be having a race here uh Rotary Park. And the proceeds of that one are gonna be going to Craig, who is the owner of the other track in Golden Valley, who is in ICU suffering from a stroke. So it's uh pretty rough time in the RC community, but we're trying to support everybody the best we can and uh having a couple of pretty good races for them.
