So this is just a um month and the upcoming month for recreation.

As we head into the month of June, recreation is officially in full swing for the summer season, and our team is excited to kick off another incredible year of programming for the community.

Beginning next Tuesday, we will launch our annual youth summer camp program, a star spangled summer themed in celebration of America 250.

This marks our fourth year offering this expanded summer camp experience, and we are proud to share that registration has reached a record high this season with numbers continuing to grow daily.

Campers will have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of activities, including sports camps such as golf, which is be back this um year, volleyball, pickleball, basketball, football, and more.

Additional offerings include dance and cheer, MMA and wrestling, arts and crafts, science activities, cooking, baking, and theater, and many other engaging enrichment app opportunities.

This will begin on May 29th, and we have 35 participants registered for this.

Throughout the month, residents can also enjoy open swim, recreational water activities, and a variety of pool events designated for all ages.

Dungeons and Dragons sessions will also continue on June 8th and June 22nd from 6 to 7 p.m., giving participants an opportunity to enjoy creativity, teamwork, and adventure-based gameplay.

We are also excited to host a horseshoe tournament at Ken Fovard Park on Friday, June 12th from 8 30 a.m.

To round out the month, one of our favorite seasonal events returns as the senior splash bad takeover.

Bullhead City Parks and Recreation Commission Meeting – May 20, 2026

Discussion on Electric-Assist Bicycles

Commissioners discussed potential regulations for electric-assist bicycles (e-bikes) and related motorized devices in city parks. Key points:

A commissioner expressed concern about safety on walking trails, particularly at Rotary Park, noting that e-bikes can approach quietly and at high speeds, startling pedestrians and dog walkers.
Commissioner suggested designating separate areas for e-bikes to separate them from pedestrian traffic.
Corporal Crawford of the Bullhead City Police Department provided detailed information on e-bike classifications (Class 1, 2, 3) and state laws, as well as enforcement challenges. He highlighted that electric dirt bikes and e-motorcycles (without pedals or over 750 watts) are treated as motor vehicles and are a growing problem in parks, with kids as young as 12 operating them illegally. He described recent citations and impoundments, noting fines can reach $2,500.
Corporal Crawford noted that while e-bikes (Class 1 and 2) cause fewer issues, speed on trails remains a safety concern. He advised that enforcement of speed limits on trails would be difficult without additional resources.
