We'll call the special meeting of the Bullhead City Council to order.

All council members are present.

Good afternoon, Mayor, Council members.

We're here this afternoon to talk about the transit facility.

This has been a project that's been in play for many years and contingent upon a lot of things, but mostly federal funding.

So Jeff Tipton and team are here to talk to us.

Um we have time this afternoon, so thirty, forty-five minutes or so.

Make sure the council's comfortable with the process, the facility.

Uh some of you weren't here when we've brought this forward in the past, so let's take time to explore and discover, and Jeff can start from the beginning.

But basically, uh this would be the facility located next to the motor vehicle department for transit.

So Jeff, you want to take it over.

Michael's prepared to cover kind of what got us here today and a little background.

Uh so um I was originally told by Jeff I had two hours, so I guess I'll scale it back a little bit.

Uh so essentially um what we're gonna be presenting to you today, uh, we had started this project oh a long time ago, but we actually started this specific project um and awarded the contract back in June of twenty twenty-three.

Uh we had made uh different strides through the project and had a number of uh public meetings that we had held, um, both at the commission level.

Uh we had done one presentation to council as well over the time, um, and finally finalized the plans uh just this February and February of twenty twenty-five.

Um I had done and Selberg had done a final presentation to our transit commission um earlier this May.

Uh and then it just worked on trying to get the scheduling down so that we could come and present this finalized plan to you.

And then later on uh this evening, hopefully we will be getting approval of these final plans, and then I'll be moving on to try and get us some money so that we can make this uh dream a reality.

So um with that I will turn things over to Selberg and Associates and Rob is here to give a presentation uh of the facility, and then I'll be available for any questions with Rob afterwards.

Afternoon, Honorable Mayor and Council members.

It's my great pleasure to be here again.

This is uh my name is Rob Sampson with Salberg Associates.

We've got Brie Sabaraza with me here as well.

Uh what we've done is put together a presentation.

Some of you have seen it before, but we've seen a lot of new faces over the course of this project, so we're uh excited to share it again, and and hopefully uh your input will offer some insight on where we need to um modify or change or accept plans as they are so we can move forward and get you guys a transit facility that'll be uh something you'd be very proud of for many years to come.

So we put together a presentation.

I'll just uh walk through it here.

Uh if you have any questions, feel free to stop me at any time and we'll uh answer any questions you have.

We're here for any questions uh that you have today.

Both Jeff and Michael already kind of mentioned where this project is going to be located.

We're gonna be looking at the corner of uh Hoppas Drive and along this way.

Uh this project is the area circled in red now.

Um, so it really will fit in nicely with the uh fabric of the city's uh complex that you guys have already put together here.

A couple things on the site plan that we're uh really excited as this came together.

We looked at a lot of different ways to maximize this uh site and get you guys a very safe site.

Uh we want to make sure that uh visibility and safety were the two main focuses of this, and also accessibility uh for all citizens, uh all the public.

We looked at this as kind of an intermodal, so there was uh a couple different methods of transportation that were uh looked at with this.

We have uh obviously regular uh buses because that's what this is for, is more of a bus state bus stop.

But we looked at this for a potential future hub of maybe Greyhound.

We looked at this also with some bicycle parking.

Uh we looked at some uh potential for alternative vehicles.

There's a lot of thoughts that went through the design process here, and and the reason that you see the buildings, you know, obviously this is somewhat of a rectangular-shaped site.

We looked at this from a couple different standpoints.

We started with one option where uh everything was oriented one orientation or or another.

We came up with this one because this provides a good segregation of the site, keeps the public spaces public and the private spaces private.

Uh we wanted to do is have a good circulation of traffic.

The one thing that you'll notice on this plan is on the the west side of the plan, which happens to be the the uh the left side.

There's kind of a sawtooth uh that's created for the buses to stop, and each one of those will have a color uh associated with it.

You'll see it in our in our renderings we'll present here in the next couple slides.

But we looked at this because we explored it a number of different transit facilities uh from here uh Los Angeles, Las Vegas.

Uh, you know, metropolitan hubs have large buses and they have circulation issues that we need to we thought would be beneficial to kind of look at their problems and how they solve them.

And this one here is one that came about as we were looking at it.
