The meeting opened with a prayer and Pledge of Allegiance, followed by roll call (all commissioners present), approval of the agenda, and adoption of the April 24, 2025 minutes without objection. The meeting featured presentations of keys to the city and proclamations, a consent agenda comprising four routine items, appointments to the Eastern New Mexico Water Utility Authority, and reports from city boards and committees.
Did my smile on my face nodded to deliver the message that how happy I am? Okay. Sometimes we will. Boy, we could get started on a conversation there, couldn't we? I'm just hurting, so I don't want people to see the hurt on my face. This sounds terribly joke. Are we ready? Do you want to run it? I'm sorry. No, it's not. This one. All right. Mayor Pro Tam, Commissioners, City Manager, members of the public. Uh, we'll begin the meeting in just a moment. And it's it's so great to see you all here this evening. And um you're probably here for presentations, and we'll get to those very early in the agenda. But first, before we get going, I'll offer a word of prayer and we'll say the pledge to our flags. Pray with me, please. Our Father in Heaven, on this day set aside for our nation to pray, we thank you for the event that we had earlier today out on Main Street, and we thank you uh for the knowledge of knowing that your people sought you uh collectively all across our country today, and Lord, we we pray that you would pour your blessings out on our country. We pray that you would pour your blessings out on Clovis and the people of this great community, Lord. We um pray you'd give us wisdom as those elected to um make policy and and budget and and vision decisions, and uh Lord, it's a pleasure to do so. We accept that responsibility, but we look to you for the the wisdom and the strength to do it well. We thank you for the amazing uh events happening in our community this week and the the celebrations that we'll we'll talk about in just a few moments as we get going in this meeting and we praise you. I offer these things in the name of Jesus, amen. Please join me in honoring our country's flag. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it's sense. One nation, indivisible liberty and justice for all. I salute the flag of the state of New Mexico. We are called to order. Here, Commissioner Cassars. Here, Commissioner Porter. Here, Mayor Pro Tem Bryant. Here, Commissioner Garza. Here, Commissioner Tulson, here, Commissioner Pala here, Commissioner Zamora. Here, Mayor Morris. Here, thank you, Ms. Burroughs. Next, you have consideration of approval of the agenda. Are there any objections hearings and seeing no objections? The agenda is adopted. Yes, votes will be recorded for each of the members. The minutes from the April 24th meeting uh have been available for you to review. Are there any objections to the way they have been typed up? Hearing and seeing no objections, the minutes from April 24th are adopted, and yes, votes are recorded for each of the members. Again, visitors, it's great to see uh all of you in the meeting chamber uh this evening, and we look forward to the celebrations, so we'll get right into them. Uh, right up at the at the top of proclamations, awards, and presentations we have a presentation of keys to the city to Miss Turquoise Circuit, to New Mexico State Fair Queen, and the Pioneer Days Queen. And obviously, that would be these ladies sitting on the the front row uh there.
