No citations and we did absolutely amazing.

We passed with flying colors.

Um she said our zoo improves every single time she shows up and I'm not gonna tell my team this, but she is now only scheduled to come twice a year because we have done so well.

But I'm gonna tell them that she comes like every every two months.

Um keep them on their toes.

And so um when it comes to the animal care side and when it comes to the animal exhibit side, we're good.

My keepers are doing amazing.

But I know I can always give a shout out to Russell um right before um haunting at Hillcrest to um get we everything weed whacked and everything like that.

Okay.

Well good.

Well I can't wait to see how it looks.

That'll be fun.

Okay, I think that is the end of the reports.

We're now at for the good of the order, and I'm just gonna give a quick um update on the um recreation facility that is going to come to the November election.

It is a joint project between the county and the city.

And it was voted on unanimously by the um county and the city for the first phase, and and this was to be the uh new swimming pool.

We're gonna keep the old pool, the old um our current aquatic center, and kind of change that up into more of a therapy type pool.

Um, and we're going to add on an additional swimming pool that will be open to the public.

Uh this is the request that we got.

It was the largest request from the public in the two different um surveys.

Surveys, thank you, Commissioner.

Uh that people wanted this the most, and so that's why uh this is the first phase.

Uh the future phase or second phase will be some basketball courts, kind of multifunctional courts that will serve for volleyball, basketball, pickleball.

Uh I think they could be used for indoor soccer.

Um anyway, kind of uh that's the future plan.

So this will be on the ballot in November.

You will have two different options to vote.

You will vote uh one option with the county and the county's uh gross receipts tax that they receive will actually build the facility.

And because uh we want to maintain it um impeccably, that is the uh city's portion of the gross receipts tax.

So just for reference, with a uh $100 purchase here in our local community, it's a gonna be a $25 tax increase, which I think for a 25 cent tax increase to have an incredible facility for uh the entire community, not just uh the youth of our um community, although the youth is absolutely gonna use it um probably the most.

Uh adults, families, everyone is welcome to use this facility.

So I absolutely encourage everyone to educate themselves.

I know there's a lot of um social media posting that the county and the city is doing.

I know it will be in the paper.

We're gonna have lots of public forums about this for people to ask their questions.

Um this I know all of the city commissioners are available anytime someone has a question, but I think it's an incredible opportunity for our community.

I think a lot of people say there's nothing to do here.

There's nothing to for our youth to do here.

And I think the county and the city have come together to offer something incredible for our community and for our youth of our community.

So I just encourage everyone to do their education and take a look at what um the city is offering.

I know there's some great pictures out there, some great drawings and renderings of what the facility is gonna look like.

So I just wanted to give a little um plug to that project.

And anyone else have anything else for the good of the order?

And where is it going to be located?

It's gonna be located at Hillcrest Park.

It's gonna be um adjoined to the current aquatic center.

And it's gonna go to the north.

There was a lot of work that the county did and proposed sites, and that was the proposed site that the county picked and the city coordinated with because the city owns the land.

So there wouldn't have to be a separate purchase of land.

So yeah, the the uh seniors can walk over directly from the senior center and go into the pool now, which I know there's not enough time in the day, open time for the people to use it as much as they would like.

So this would alleviate, you know the the use of this seniors, it would give them more time to use the facility.

And then it would we would have a whole nother a pool area there.

So and hopefully lots of lifeguards.

So our next anyone else have anything for the good of the order?

Madam Chair.

And our request was uh totaled four point one million dollars, and that is to replace the uh playground equipment at Sunset Park, Veterans Park, and Pat Sandoval Parks.

Uh we're also uh requested funding to replace uh the field lights at Dean Field, Green Acresfield, all the lights at Guy Leader, uh the lights at Potter Park, uh the lights at Dickinson Field and the lights at Highland uh Field, and also included it in that request was to replace the frontline irrigation system at uh Colonial Park.

And so uh just want to let you guys know that we did apply for that and we're expecting a quick turnaround time uh if we are uh awarded the funds we have until the end of June to expend them.

Uh and so hopefully we'll hear uh within the next couple weeks on whether or not we will receive that funding.
