He began um incorporating some of his new programming into the classes that are being offered.

double sided art block challenge um out on display in the lower lobby that people can just um interact with as they pass through um next week we're hosting another cat and tuesday uh the kids crack table we will be doing summertime ice art which should be fun um also next week turning point domestic violence services we'll be doing a free teen connect uh indo night um and then the week afterwards um celebration of prime park month which is july um we are hosting a free concert with the verb and brass company uh there are five piece brass quintet not a classical quintet but super fun high energy um from global Kentucky that's in the comments yes what day was that again uh sorry Thursday July 23rd 730 in the performance hall uh so for the field house in June we had the uh our family volleyball camp and we had 123 campers that is the most that we've ever had so we're super excited about that we also started our very first season of the use of youth basketball league uh did an MOU started five teams and 12 you and then 14 and 14 U.

Um and the plan is hopefully just continue to feel well for that.

But it's been going well so far.

We also had the Pacers and Fever camp again I think this is the uh fourth year that we've had it we had 62 campers one of those campers was my son but they also receive a free ticket to go up to the Pacers game the following season.

So for outdoor we hosted four tournaments so June is where all our state tournaments come in so it was a very busy month.

We average 94 teams per weekend the largest weekend was 135.

This week of course not in June but we do have the fashion pitch uh nationals going on right now so that started on Tuesday uh we kicked off on Monday with a opening ceremony this air land in the went very well um sometimes crew busy with all the tournaments uh they did get complete uh fertilizing at blackwell with the next round coming in August um and one of the things we're gonna address at black well as well you know a lot of complaints that we still receive are about how level the surface is out there and so we are gonna top dress um this fall and probably in the spring depending on how things go so and that's something that between just kind of like looking through uh paperwork is something that hasn't been done since like 2022 so uh hopefully that like saw some things that get things back rolling on the ground more level uh for golf just continue to be busy despite the weather being up and down uh we did host a very large uh outing with the chamber um on June 30th uh with 108 golfers and they last you for Hamilton uh just busy with a lot of different uh summer camps uh the house league did start skating classes and root ball uh just in general uh we did host our held the 2026 Jack Kramer selection meeting um and the actual ceremony is on July 29th at 530 um the male recipient is coach ed bogul and then the female next there was one year we held it here I don't um but yes it'll be in Nexus in uh meeting room A I would probably say between three to five hundred uh it's basically a way a way to like level out the uh the field and so it's case you may have to cut me out a little bit but I'll know it's uh sand involved and it basically helped cover up holes and things like that it's something that we didn't do yearly um in the past with the field crew but it's something that we just haven't done since all the changeover and stuff and so we have three people on the crew right now that can do it so we're gonna try yes 80 acres right so but the problem is if you gotta find the fields right the holes to bring everything up trick is if you're not real careful you just made it work he didn't make no worse but you didn't make any that much part we're not gonna worry about that the hour matters right yeah no just when you take out the playable fields it's much needed I mean the we've gotten the weeds a little bit more under control but

So we've we've made it better because it's not a hundred percent crabgrass and weeds that are foot tall.

Um uh personnel wise, we've had some birthdays and we've had some celebrations within our office.

So um it's nice to kind of take a break from all the numbers, numbers.

Upgrade with Jackson control for the heating cooling system.

Um there's still a little bit to work with fire alarm inspection there, and that's that's one of those things that's trying to purely pass.

We'll get that honor.

Um we went through some um PMs with the hand cooling at the field house and with the filling itself.

Um we got some of some mulching done in June around the the midtown green.

Um so those people's equipment mechanics fired up and it's it's either just so um they've got a lot to maintain there, but so far so good.

Mainly helped out with the couple vandalisms reporters and we also went through a bunch of our inspections as we geared up and translated system with build and go trying to bring that a little bit of storm damage in June, but a lot of um here comes the weeds and it finally rained and got warm.

So they've been mowing this running a lot.

Um they've spent a lot of time over Lincoln Park, but um they've been doing their normal routes.

Um we've been able to pick up some extra time um to do some fire washing throughout the department with those guys.

Um as we move into kind of the new era of parkops, we are looking at some things like handling our vagarism report.

Um so these are ways to see this.

We talk about budgets and things and manpower, and it's just not flushrating.

It's also reminding staff through board vandalism.

Sometimes we just get we're not surprised at their vandalism, and we just fix things or deal with things.

So one is starting to look at some trends, like vandalism, there is no writing reasons, but when we talk with budgets budget for more um data time, please lifting how involved were any of your folks with the setup for the fourth of July take down fairly or every day.

Yeah, it was it was kind of all hands on deck, right?

With DPW and parks and work and all of them, yeah.
