Summary of Proceedings

Columbus Redevelopment Commission Special Meeting - October 27, 2026

The Columbus Redevelopment Commission held a special meeting on October 27, 2026, with a single action item: Resolution 22-2026 authorizing pre-approval of claims disbursement for the 6th and Washington Street Mixed-Use Project. The meeting included roll call, a presentation by attorney Brad Bingham, discussion, and unanimous approval.

Discussion Items

  • Resolution 22-2026 – Pre-approval of Claims Disbursement for 6th and Washington Street Mixed-Use Project: Brad Bingham (Barnes & Thornburg) explained the need for the resolution. The city's forgivable loan to Flarity and Collins was scheduled to close simultaneously with their construction loan from State Bank. To allow an initial draw on the forgivable loan at closing, the resolution permits the CRC treasurer (the city controller) to disburse funds prior to the next regular CRC meeting. Disbursements will follow a standard process: the developer submits a draw request to State Bank, which reviews and certifies it; the city has 10 days to review and approve.

Key Outcomes

  • The commission unanimously approved Resolution 22-2026, authorizing pre-approval of claims disbursement for the 6th and Washington Street Mixed-Use Project. The motion was made by a commissioner, seconded by Cindy Bold, and passed with all aye votes.
  • The meeting adjourned following a unanimous vote to adjourn; a motion to adjourn was made by a commissioner, seconded by Scott Ballard.
