1:35

Thank you, Your Honor.

1:36

Did attend the public safety board last night and it was a barn burner.

1:44

Was that computer bad?

1:45

Was the fire department there?

1:46

Fire department was there.

1:48

Heard some uh some good reports both from the chief and uh fire police chief and fire chief and uh a bit of an update on uh reserve pumper.

2:01

Do I have that correct?

2:02

Reserve pumper.

2:03

Um I believe that uh there's no action now at this time, but uh it's still a topic.

2:11

Is that correct?

2:11

Do I have that?

2:12

Still getting I would say that uh the thing that stole the show was probably the traffic calming on Liggett, and uh ward one was out in full force.

2:27

Um I would say if uh if the survey was taken last night, uh it would have been an absolute win in favor of it.

2:38

Um that said it we still probably spent 45 minutes or so uh at least on that.

2:45

Uh and and it was it's fairly straightforward, although in this case it's a little bit more interesting with uh mini curbs, uh a little kind of uh cold, not um what am I trying to say?

2:57

Yeah, thank you.

2:58

And um, but in general, there was uh just a wonderful amount of uh interaction between uh police chief Williams and the residents, uh lots of questions.

3:11

I feel like most people walked away with the answers that they were looking for.

3:16

Um encouraged by it.

3:20

Very good.

3:20

So um that's my report for the evening.

3:22

I assume that uh motion passed the the board.

3:25

Uh that's right.

3:26

I'm sorry, yes, that's a good point.

Discussion Items

  • Reports from Aldermen: Several aldermen reported on recent committee meetings and community events. Alderman Morrison highlighted the Public Safety Board meeting, noting strong resident support for traffic calming measures on Liggett Road. Alderman Personnow echoed the enthusiasm, and Alderman Kennedy invited board members to a community gathering and reported on the Parks & Recreation murder mystery event. The next Board of Aldermen meeting was announced as canceled due to lack of business.
  • Green Cities Initiative (New Business): City Administrator introduced the St. Louis Green Cities Challenge, a program of the Missouri Botanical Garden that helps municipalities integrate sustainability measures. The annual fee is $400, with staff time commitment primarily from Parks and Recreation. Jacqueline Jezick, a Crestwood resident and program manager, explained that participation is voluntary with no mandates, and cities can choose goals such as native plants, benchmarking, or community composting. The registration fee can be covered by a St. Louis County recycling grant. The board expressed support for exploring the program, with no formal vote taken. Alderman Morrison noted the registration deadline is end of April.
  • Introduction of Bills or Future Issues: Alderman Maybe distributed a proposed ordinance amending Chapter 16 of the city code. He requested that it be added to new business at the April meeting, where he would move to refer it to the Public Safety Committee for refinement and public input.

Key Outcomes

  • Consent agenda passed unanimously (8-0).
  • The board discussed the Green Cities Initiative but took no formal action; staff and interested aldermen will pursue membership.
  • Alderman Maybe’s proposed ordinance amendment will be formally introduced at the next regular meeting (tentatively April) and referred to the Public Safety Committee.
  • The board voted unanimously (8-0) to adjourn to a closed session under Missouri Revised Statutes 610.021(1) (legal) and (2) (real estate).
