Chemicals Bid for Water Department
An annual bid for chemicals for the water department was considered. The city received 17 bids. The Board voted to award the low bidder per item as follows:

- Item 2 – Hydrochloride, silicic acid (fluoride): Shannon Chemical at $1.27 per wet pound
- Item 3 – Copper sulfate: Chemrite at $140.49 per 50-pound bag
- Item 4 – Sodium hydroxide: Univar at $0.1239 per wet pound
- Item 5 – Sodium hypochlorite: Cune Chemical at $0.1967 per wet pound

Okay, this is the Board of Awards for Wednesday, June 24, 2026. Calling the meeting to order at 10 a.m. Uh, my name's Chick Volkin, the purchasing agent. We have with us attendance today, Mr. Matt Gazabecchia, a director of emergency management. We have attorney Tracy Norris, our assistant corporation counsel. We have Mr. Kenton Higgins, our assistant uh superintendent of public utilities, and we have Mr. Dan Garrick, our finance director. We just have two items on the agenda. Uh the first item is a renewal of annual incident management communications and mass notification system for the Office of Emergency Management. And for the record, Mr. Kazavek just submitted a quote from Everbridge. Uh, this is dated April 8th, 2026. Uh, this is to renew the subject service. It'd be for the period June 30th, 2026 to June 29th, 2027. Uh the quoted cost is 20,182.22 cents. Uh Everbridge quarterback for the current general services administration, GSA contract. Uh, and I will note that this is the same cost as last year. Uh that being the case, we need a motion from you, and it'll be contingent upon the agreement. Make a motion to award the uh ridge GSA contract pricing for the mass notification system for the city of Damory, contingent upon contract review by legal. Okay, second, second by Mr. Garrick. This is uh bid for the chemicals for the water department for the record. This is an annual bid uh for items to be purchased on a net needed basis. Uh we received 17 bids. And I believe Mr. Higgins, the motion's gonna be awarded the low bearer by item. Yep. I'd like to make a motion to award the chemicals bid for this year to the low bearer per item. Okay, second by Mr. Garrick. I'm just gonna read it in for the record, so I have it. I like to say the words to once a year. So uh item one, which is the um sulfate of alumina, go to chemtrade at point one six seven one uh per wet pound. Uh item two, which is the hydrochloride, silicic acid. I think it's also known as fluoride, would go to Shannon Chemical at $1.27 per wet pound. Uh item number three, the copper sulfate would go to chemrite. That's 140.49 cents per 50 pound bag. Uh item number four, the sodium hydroxide would go to univar at point one two three nine per wet pound. Uh item number five, the sodium hypochlorite, uh, would go to Cune Chemical at 0.1967 per wet pound.
