Exterminator Services Renewal

Approved renewal of exterminator services with JP McHale (formerly OnViral Care Pest Control) at the same pricing for an additional year. Motion carried.

Emergency Bar Screen Repair

Ratified emergency action taken on August 9, 2026, to repair the number one bar screen at the wastewater treatment plant, damaged by heavy debris from a rainstorm. Estimated cost $60,000, to be paid from sewer operations or capital. Motion carried.

Emergency Catch Basin Purchase

Declared an emergency and waived formal bidding to purchase 100 catch basin tops from United Concrete at $510 each ($51,000 total) due to significant delivery delays from the previous supplier, Connecticut Precast, which was impacting the paving schedule. United Concrete is a state contract holder with immediate availability. Motion carried.

Emergency Drainage Repair for Paving

Declared an emergency and authorized piggybacking on the Town of Beacon Falls contract with Asphalt Repair Solutions (ARS) for drainage repair and installation work in advance of paving, contingent on a change order to ARS's existing paving contract. This was necessary because current drainage contractors could not keep pace with the workload. ARS's unit prices were found favorable compared to the city's current rates. Motion carried.
