I'm joined, by the way, by City Band members, Teresa and Pat, and then I'll let you guys say some words afterwards, okay?

Okay.

So what I'll do is I'm going to read the proclamation that states D Pierce City Bands celebrates 50th anniversary, which is very exciting.

1:51

And they'll go, um, when they talk, they'll say stuff like, you know, when the band performs, where, times, and all that.

1:57

So, whereas the City of De Pierre City Band has been an integral part of Northeast Wisconsin's art and culture community since its founding in 1976 as a bicentennial city band.

2:11

And whereas the band and the music community at large this year pause to remember and celebrate the gifts of the band's founder and longtime director, D Pier Native and musical powerhouse Ken Peterson.

2:25

Whereas Ken's musical contributions continue to resonate from his start as director at Clintonville High School, he was a trucker, and later at West of Pier High School and the Middle School, to his role as a master adjudicator for Wisconsin solo and ensemble competitions and to his performances with various area groups, including the River City Six, the Civic Symphony of Green Bay, Abbey Brass, Talk of the Town, and AVB, the Green Bay Packers Band, and many more.

2:59

Whereas the band is now carrying Ken's legacy into the 50th year of bringing music in the park to the community through performances at Voyager Park.

3:09

Now, therefore, I, James G.

3:11

Boyd, Mayor of the City of De Peer, Wisconsin, by the authority vested in me, do hereby commend the D Pierce City Band and its members for 50 years of bringing music to the community.

3:25

How about a big hand for the representatives of the Pierce City

Speaker 6

3:28

Band?

Speaker 1

3:31

I'll give this to you.

3:32

Actually, I'm not going to give this to you because I'll be going to the city band next Thursday and do an official presentation of the proclamation next Thursday.
