Rattling Hump Trail Alignment: Staff presented three alignment options for a new trail connection near Eagle Crest, with a preference for the "green alignment" (Option 3) to minimize steep grades and avoid creating new intersections.
Red Rock Trail Formalization: Staff proposed formalizing existing informal "social trails" used for rock climbing to manage erosion and user safety. The plan involves creating a designated loop with stairs to serve hikers and climbers, separating them from the main trail system.
Maple Hollow/Flyover Project: Staff presented a plan to realign the Upper Maple trail to remove dangerous "flow killers" (tight, loose switchbacks) and prepare for a future flyover to separate high-speed downhill traffic from the slower Annie's Trail.
Longview/Ft. Canyon Connectivity: Staff discussed a potential multi-city trail connection involving Draper, Alpine, and the Fort Canyon property, aiming to link to the Wasatch State Trail (BST). The project requires easements from private landowners (Tratoda) and Fort Canyon LLC.
Draper Bike Race Planning: A proposal was introduced to host a timed "time trial" style mountain bike race at Corner Canyon Park (starting at Brookside). The event would feature short, multi-lap courses with different skill categories.
Parking Pass/Monitization Proposal: Staff and members discussed implementing a paid parking pass system for non-residents at trailheads to ensure fair contribution to maintenance costs.

This is the uh the uh November uh meeting, number November 5th meeting 2025 of the River City Parks, Trails and Recreation Committee. And we are meeting in the uh conference room next to the council chamber. And the uh first order of business is just to uh approve the meeting minutes from the last meeting that we had, which was uh what says here nine three and ten oh one. 101 we had an agenda top canceled, so it's just all right. Do we have any um edits or corrections on that? Uh someone might want to make a motion to approve the minutes. Motion to approve. And second all in favor, aye. Aye. Any opposed? Okay. All right. Um so we need to look at the schedule for next year. So I'm gonna bring this up. Set that up. We're open to any changes. So I have some options to consider. We just keep what we currently have. So um so you know this last year we met. This was our third time meeting this year. In May and October we were on the agenda, but both got canceled because it was not in the cloud. Um some other committees in the city are not meeting every month, and we may want to consider that. For example, down here, tree commission is doing something that's interesting. They're doing three months in a row, taking the summer off, three months in a row, taking the holidays off, basically. Um that's an option we will we could consider. One would be meeting quarterly February, May, instead of August, I maybe propose September, because August is still summer in November for another option would be six times a year, so basically every other month, couple years. And then the other option is just keeping like we have a couple times a year, cancel at needed. Um if there is a example we did four times a year and nobody need like in the middle of February, and it's like we really need next month. We can we can add that. I I verified that with Red. Uh in the past you said, hey, we gotta get these on there, and I guess. Hey, they're gonna adopt these. Yeah. But according to Rhett, we can go ahead and add one. It's just here's my question though. Isn't it easier to cancel one than to put one on the scope? Seems like it's easier to cancel. It's easier to cancel and add one. Yeah. But at the same time, if we know we're gonna want to meet a certain month, yeah, then I'm not having to send an email out. Seems like there's always summer, seems like there's always times when we can't. Yeah. I mean there's two arguments for that. Like that's when the trails are getting used the most, and most of the action going on most of the. I know when I was on the Aaron Trails Committee, we never been to the summer.
