Discussion Items

  • River Valley Church Interim Use Permit Renewal (875 Blue Gentian Rd): Staff presented a request to renew a five-year IUP allowing a church in the BP (Business Park) zoning district. The church has operated at this site since 2011 with no reported issues. Staff noted missing landscaping that must be restored as a condition. The applicant had no additional comments. No public testimony was offered.
  • Minnesota Top Team Interim Use Permit (3500 Dodd Road): The applicant sought a five-year IUP for outdoor storage of two cargo containers and an outdoor fitness training area in an I-1 (Industrial) district. Staff noted that the containers may not meet the required five-foot setback from the north property line and that the surfacing is recycled bituminous aggregate rather than asphalt. Condition #5 requires verifying and meeting the setback. The applicant appeared and made no additional statement. A commissioner asked about complaints; staff reported none. Discussion clarified that potential encroachment is a private matter between landowners.

Key Outcomes
