The Eagan City Council held a special meeting on June 9, 2026, starting at 5:30 PM in the Eagan Municipal Center. The meeting featured a joint session with the Sustainable Eagan Advisory Commission (SEAC) to present the commission's proposed goals and an update on the city's Climate Action Plan. Council also reviewed two informal concept plans for potential land-use changes (1360 Lone Oak Road and Hwy 55/Courthouse Lane) and received the results of the 2025 Business Survey. No public comments were heard, and no binding votes were taken on the concept plans; the meeting ended with adjournment.
Sadly, they didn't come. Special City Council meeting to workshop the city council tonight. Uh we are in the uh increasingly warm and crowded uh Egan room. Uh, tonight. I'm told that uh uh somebody in the building is uh on trying to turn down the temperature a little bit in here because it's uh a packed house. Um we have uh our joint meeting tonight with the uh sustainable Egan Advisory Commission. Uh, we'll get an update on our uh climate action plan as well. Uh a couple of uh concept plans for the council to uh listen to and discuss with proposed developers, uh, and then we'll close out with our business survey results tonight. Um but uh I want to check in uh Ms. Mill. Any changes the agenda? No, Mr. Mayor. Uh council any change to the agenda. For motion. Councilman Buck. Move to adopt the agenda as presented. Second. That's moved and seconded. Any further discussion on the agenda? Seeing none, all in favor saying aye. Okay. And opposed nay. That motion carries and we have agenda. Um want to check. Are there any members of the public who are here uh under and wanted to appear under the visitors to be heard category remaining tonight? Okay, seeing none, uh, I'll move right to our uh joint meeting uh with the uh uh sustainable Egan Advisory Commission. Uh and I'm gonna go to uh Gillian to start us out with that and uh welcome Gillian and and welcome to the Sustainable Advis Egan Advisory Commission. Um Gillian, take it away, and I'm sure we'll probably hear some introductions. Thank you, Mayor and Council, for having members of the Sustainable Egan Advisory Commission and myself here this evening. Tonight we will kick off with the Sustainable Egan Advisory Commission or the FDAC's meeting. Uh I'll start with brief introductions and uh then go into a recap of last year's goals. And finally, the commission will propose this year's goals for consideration. After that, um we will conclude tonight's presentation with a brief update on the city's sustainability initiative and climate action plan progress. So I'm gonna turn it over to Chair Zizi to kick off introductions. All right, uh, thank you for having us tonight, and we can go through introductions here. Uh it's quite a new group by my account. I think we fully turned over the entire uh commission over the last two years. Other than me, um, you haven't gotten rid of me yet. So if each member could go through uh give our names, uh years on the commission and position if you hold one, and then also one brief personal detail, something like why you joined, what you're looking forward to, or what you've enjoyed thus far. So kicking off real quick, my name is Ian Zizi. I've been on the commission for nine years, currently the chair. Uh, one personal detail. Um, it's like being in a position where I can positively influence my community. Great. Thanks, Ian. Hello, good evening. I'm Peggy Crismo Kennan, and I'm the vice chair. And this is my second year on the commission. And I uh join because I think sustainability and care of the environment starts at home.
