- Alderman Ottawa McZemChack moved, and Alderman Altman Russell seconded, a motion to convene in closed session under Maryland General Provisions Article 3-305 B(1)(i) to discuss the compensation package for a potential employee, citing the need for candid discussion and protection of the candidate's privacy.
Key Outcomes
- The motion passed unanimously with a vote of 4–0. Alderman McShane was not present. The board then adjourned to the mayor’s office for the closed session.
Meeting Transcript
I would like to ask the board to convene in a closed session in accordance with the authority granted under the annotated code of Maryland General Provisions Article 3-305 B1i to discuss the appointment, employment, assignment, promotion, discipline, demotion, compensation, removal, resignation, or performance evaluation of an appointee, employee, or official over whom it has jurisdiction. The reason for closing the meeting is to allow the board to candidly discuss the compensation package for a potential employee while maintaining the potential employees' privacy. Is there a motion? So moved. Second. Motion by Ottawa McZemChack, second by Altman Russell. All those in favor? That is 4 0 with Alderman McShane not present. We will convene in the office of the mayor. Thank you very much.
