Um Dr. Dave Kurwan. I'm the mayor Pro Tem sitting in for Mayor Walker Reed, who unfortunately hasn't joined us yet. He is still recovering but doing well. I spoke with him last week, actually. We had once together, and uh he looked good, sounded good, um, but not quite 100%. He wants to be 100% when he comes back. I said, take your time. We got this. Um, we will march on. We've got a great staff, we've got a great council, and so uh, but we're looking forward to his return. So hopefully that will be much sooner than later. So at this time, I'm gonna ask Councilwoman Barber to give us our invocation. Thank you. Sure. Thank you. Um, for those of you who wish to pray with me, if you will bow your heads at this time. Gracious God, thank you for allowing us to see this day, and thank you for bringing us all back together again to handle the business of our great city. Dear God, as leaders of this great city, grant us the wisdom and knowledge needed to make sound decisions and represent what is in the best interest of the city of Gastonia. I ask that you continue to strengthen and guide our staff to always do what is best for the people we serve. Thank you, God, for how you continue to bless our city, continue to allow us to shine a light of hope and promise upon each of us, God, and help us to realize our many blessings. Thank God I ask you to give us understanding, patience, and the necessary resources needed to help our residents who may find themselves in unfortunate situations. I pray for protection over our staff working in high risk jobs, our police officers, our firemen, and our linemen, and many others, keep them safe and free from harm, bless all of our employees and their families, help them to know through our actions and deeds that we value each of them and the work they do each and every day on behalf of the city of Gastonia.
