Council meeting of December 1st uh here in the city council chambers.

I am Mayor Pro Tem Dave Curlin sitting in for the mayor who is currently on vacation.

So if we can, we'll start with an invocation and uh and then we'll go on and excuse the the mayor.

So if you'd bow your hand, heads if you're so inclined.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for bringing us safely to this place today.

Thank you for all the many blessings you've bestowed upon us, our city, and our families.

Those blessings that can continue to be hopefully good health, the ability to serve our city with fervor, with motivation, with a heart, with a soul, and with our minds.

Lord, lift up those less fortunate than us, of which there are so many today.

So many that are hurting in so many ways.

Be with them, give them hope, give them a sense of a future.

Please watch out for all of our first responders.

These are the folks that put their lives on the line every day to protect us to keep this city safe and strong.

Watch over our city management, our city staff, all our city employees, as these are good folks that work hard for us and make our city a better place.

And watch out for this council.

Help them to be strong, to be wise, to be patient and to be kind and to think about the best for our city in every action they take.

Lord, you've given so much to us, and that means that we need to give back to those who have less than we do.

Lord, be with us at this time for this meeting.

Be with us and our families in the coming weeks, as we have now begun the season of Advent when we prepare to meet you in a manger in Bethlehem on a very special moment in the wise of all Christians.

All this we ask in your holy name.

Amen.
