So the purpose of this hearing is to receive um information, testimony, and evidence so that the local licensing authority may make findings and reach a determination regarding whether the beer and wine license will conflict or not with the desires of the adult inhabitants and reasonable requirements of the neighborhood in the vicinity of the new location. Um, and also whether the reasonable requirements of the neighborhood are currently being met by existing license outlets, and also whether the adult inhabitants of the neighborhood desire that this license be issued. So the hearing will be governed by the Colorado State Statutes, the Golden Municipal Code, and the local licensing authority rules of procedure. Um interested parties such as yourself and also the city uh will be able to present evidence and cross-examine witnesses. Um I won't go through um whether or not uh the um I won't go through the what makes you an interested party, I think. Okay, you probably understand that you're an interested party. Yep. Um so are you going to be the interested party that would wish to uh participate in this hearing? Yes, I am. Okay. So the um applicant has the burden of demonstrating to this authority that the issuance of the requested license is consistent with reasonable requirements of the neighborhood and the desires of the adult inhabitants at this time.
