PC 2021-1166 – Site Plan for Ramco Addition (5445 Hudson Industrial Parkway)
PC 2022 – 2022 Planning Commission Meeting Schedule
Okay. Call in order of stated meeting of the industrial design subcommittee for the city of Hudson. Mr. Sugar, would you like to take attendance? Yes. Mr. Mr. Orkley? Here. Ms. Marzua here. Mr. Lehman. Here. We have one agenda item, which is the Ramco construction at 5445 Hudson. Do you want to give the reporter discussion? Mr. Greg Seaford here from Geist Companies to help us with the discussion. Just a quick overview. Oops. Looking at Ramco, which is at the end of Hudson Hudson Industrial Parkway. Just for some background, the the building was reviewed by the Planning Commission and Industrial Design Subcommittee in 2015. Through that review, there were a couple additions highlighted, this being one of them, one to the north of the building as a future edition, and one to the west of the building between the drive and the building here. This is the feature edition that we're now discussing today. Pull the elevations. Staff we did recommend matching that that pre-cast material, although we did note that the building and the additions located and it's on the rear of the building. It would be on the rear of the building and it would be on uh the end of the terminus of a cul-de-sac. Um then we did have the staff comments uh to the review criteria. Um but uh before we get into all those, I can turn it over to Greg if you want to uh give us an introduction or add. Uh sure. Uh Greg Seaford with Geist Construction. Uh good evening and thanks for being here tonight. I'm gonna hand out handouts, might make it easier than flipping around different pages. Thanks. Color. Just what I was hoping for. Just what I was hoping for. Thank you. Uh as Nick mentioned. This is a pretty straightforward uh expansion to the existing building. Um it uh it would have been planned for previously uh when the original building was built, and eventually this the site is big enough that the building could also expand further towards the uh towards Hudson Industrial Parkway. Um it was chosen when we built the original building to set the building back because well uh mostly because the owner liked the way it sat on the property, and as you know, if you come down Hudson Industrial Parkway and and and take that left um, I'm sorry, right hand turn, and you're looking across the pond there. I think it sits very well on the property and um you know and has a great presence there. So um it's my hope that when in one sense that the building doesn't expand, but you know, for the purposes of their building uh their business growing, you know, someday obviously we hope that it does. Um anyway, uh this addition was planned on the west side of the property. Uh it was all graded, it was basically put there to the proper elevation, and then some uh topsoil put down and it was seeded in order to be uh grass. And uh the drive for the truck drive entrance, which is further to the west of this, uh, was placed so that it would be out of the way of this expansion. Um as Nick mentioned, the uh the exterior surfaces of the building uh we we would and so would the Ramco people prefer to get to do those uh walls, at least the south and west walls as precast, but unfortunately, we can't get it. Um in in the in today's day in uh uh uh life experiences with trying to get uh um building materials um pre-cast and concrete panels are uh 32 weeks plus out. And what and and in a building like that, even if you build it and don't use them as load bearing, you gotta have those walls in place before you can obviously enclose the building.
