First item is the minutes from last week.

That'll bring us to the first item consideration of the CDBG funds.

Kelly, can you start?

Yeah, just real quickly.

Number one, thank you for your patience with our technology issues this week.

I still I see now that there's another error on here where a line didn't carry over.

I promise we'll do better next month.

It's just been creating a special meeting was was a little dramatic for us.

So I I thank you for your patience.

Um so last week you saw all of the presentations for the CDBG applicants, and so tonight your charge is to agree on a preliminary allocation in the amount of eighty thousand dollars, which is what we assume that our funding will be for next year.

Keep in mind that that is always subject to change.

Um you have three, I'm sorry, five applicants for 142,000.

Um, and you need to whittle that down to 80.

Um there is a suggested recommendation at the end of your memo that includes the way that we will adjust in the event that our um actual funding ends up being either higher or lower, and how that happens.

Um, we would have to come back to the CDA and have this discussion all over again.

Um that makes it difficult for our agencies to be able to budget for themselves because there could be a completely different result six months from now or a year from now.

Um and so we ask that you adjust according to that that recommendation.

So I'm happy to answer any questions.

If you don't have any questions for me and you want to just start, I'm gonna step away so that I can run this spreadsheet so that we can kind of keep track.

And so the Roberts Rules of Order way this works.

Someone makes a proposed motion with their allocation, then we can discuss need a second, and then we can discuss.

People can propose amendments to reallocate however they want.

So does anyone got a strong anchoring point they want to start with?

I have a proposal.

Okay.

Um using a is this recommendation.

Well, you you say the proposal, but you just have to include that language about reallocating proportionally if the funding changes.

Okay.

So using a proportional distribution based on the amount requested, each agency receives a share of the 85,000 available funding equal to its percentage of the 142 total requested.

So what that boils down to is Boys and Girls Club of Janesville would receive 15.49%, a dollar amount of 13,169.

Community action in would be 7.04% of the total request with a dollar amount of 5,986.25%.

Total of 35915.13 percent at 17,958, and neighbor works of 14.08% is 11,972.

It is recommended that the CDA make a preliminary allocation of CDBG funding indicating which proposals they would like to fund.

And for the specific dollar amount to be included in the 2024 draft budget and the annual action plan for public service activities, it is further requested that recommendation include language that includes allocations to be automatically adjusted on a proportionate basis based upon the total amount ultimately available under the 2027 public services cap rounded to the nearest hundred dollars.

Just for point of clarification, and and again, this is probably our fault.

We are asking you to allocate 80,000, not 85.

And that may have been a carryover from whatever that odd memo was that initially was sent.
