The Lake Havasu City Council met in regular session on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. in Council Chambers at 92 Acoma Boulevard South. Mayor Cal Sheehy presided, and Vice Mayor Michele Lin and Councilmembers Nancy Campbell, Jim Dolan, David Diaz, Cameron Moses, and Jeni Coke (via remote conferencing after 5:46 p.m.) were present. The council approved the consent agenda, held seven public hearings, heard open public comment, and adjourned at 8:22 p.m. After Councilmember Coke joined, all roll-call votes were 7-0; the consent agenda was approved 6-0 before she joined.
Good evening and welcome. I call to order the Lake Havasu City Council regular meeting on Tuesday, January 28th, 2025 at 5:30 p.m. to order. We'll begin with an invocation from Pastor Kay Zimmerman from City on a Hill International Church. And then followed with the Pledge of Allegiance led by Sanish Katha Gundala with the American Lung Cancer Screening Institute joining us virtually this evening. Good evening, everyone. Let's pray. Father God, we just thank you that you're our God. And we just uh invite you to come to this meeting, Lord. We invite you to be God over our city. We thank you, Lord, that you had Mr. McCullough come here and create this city because you had a plan and a purpose. And we thank you for it, Lord. I pray that you will guide every decision made, Father God, that it will be in line with your will and for your glory, Lord. And I just thank you that you've even given us a decree for our city. But before I decree, I want to thank you for our mayor and our council and every city leader that we have, and I just pray a blessing over each one of them. Thank them for what they do. I decree over the city of Lake Havasu City that this city shall be a city of righteousness that honors God in all her ways. A city of hope to all her people and all those who come here. A city of light where darkness finds no room to hide. A city of love that prospers in all her ways, providing prosperity and goodwill to all her people, as well as those surrounding her, and a city of peace to all who dwell here. Thank you. Should I go ahead and present my screen on this? Yes. Awesome. Amazing. So my name is Sonish, and I'm an advocate lead of the American Lung Cancer Screen Initiative. And today we're going to be talking about increasing lung cancer screening in Arizona for Lake Kabasa City. So first of all, who we are. I'll see for the American Long Cancer Screen Initiative, the National 501 City Nonprofit, and we posted over 700 events and 35,000 conversations about lung cancer screening. As you can see in the picture. And we strongly believe that advocacy is a key to long-term improvement. As you can see a picture of our team at the Rayburn House of Representatives. We have a big team in Boston for headquarters. And we've been collecting over 1004 public service announcements for famous governors, senators, and medical professionals. One of them is from the mayor of Lake Boston City, Mayor Chief. And we have over 56,000 chapters today across the United States, Canada, and outside. And we have over 574 blood cancer screen proclamations from all 50 United States as in Canada. And we have the last three years of Senate resolution recognized in November as national blood cancer. And so today we're going to talk about why do we need blood cancer scripts? So first of all, who's that race? It's first of all, people who have smoked cigarettes. And 30% of adults in Arizona have smoked cigarettes. And second, this doctor is radar.
