The Public Arts Advisory Board of Lakewood, Ohio, met on October 14, 2026, at 10:30 AM to approve meeting minutes, review a mural proposal, receive updates on ongoing projects, discuss the newly adopted Public Art Master Plan, and outline priorities for 2027. The board also thanked outgoing member Mr. Robars.
All right, good afternoon, everyone. I'd like to welcome everyone to the October 14th, twenty twenty six meeting of the Public Arts Advisory Board for City of Lakewood. Can we have a roll call, please? Mr. Mr. Santas. Thank you, everyone, for coming today. Everyone, I mean, thanks for coming. We're really serious about that. The purpose of the public art advisory board is to collaborate with city officials regarding its public art policies and practices, promote the city's public art initiatives, and educate residents on the benefits of public art on public and private properties. Those who offer public comment are asked to come to the podium and sign in on the sheet provided. This serves as an oath or affirmation that you'll tell the truth before your board before the board. Before offering your comments, we ask that you please state your name and address for the record while speaking. Please stay close to the microphone so we can ensure all aspects of the discussion are accurately captured. We'll not begin with the regular business of the public art advisory board. Thank you very much. All right. Um I know the meeting minutes for July 8th just went out. But I had a chance to look at them. It was pretty short and sweet, but um like to uh ask for I'll make a motion to approve. Can I have a second? A second? All right. Any comments? All right. Uh all in favor then. Hi. Hi. All right. Great. All right, first up, uh 18605 Detroit mural proposal. Hi there. Welcome. Thank you. Hi. Uh my name is Jared Malouf, and I uh I represent the forest in uh it on Lake on Detroit Road. And uh I was once a Lakewood resident, very proud of it, and very excited to have the business open in Lakewood, and I'm really excited about um I think this will be a conversational piece that um we're really proud to take a wall that had a sign for the Harry Buffalo in a tattoo shop and turning it into an homage to both landmarks and um sort of staple businesses that most people would recognize. And to be clear, neither no Mayhall's uh Summer House nor Angelo's is providing any compensation. We don't view this as an advertisement, we just view that as paying respect to in local institutions. Question one check. Whether this was like proposed this is what it's going to look like, whether this is like a draft. Yes, those are the images.
