I have a couple of announcements.

0:16

First of all, we get a lovely thank you note from the Berkshire International Film Festival.

0:22

They celebrated their 20th year of having the film festival.

0:26

Thank you.

0:29

They celebrated their 20th year here in uh lovely Berkshire County.

0:35

Um they had their festival from May 28th to May 31st.

0:40

They had over 600 patrons and dozens of filmmakers, and they nearly sold out all the screenings that they held here in town hall.

0:48

We appreciate them bringing people to town so that people can enjoy our restaurants and our um our merchants, and we wish them all the best uh in the coming 20 years.

0:59

Now, one more thing, I'm going to let you know that uh CTSB is recording this evening, as is our friend Clarence Fantau from the Berkshire Eagle.

1:10

Um other than that, I have um some information about a new town hall after hours drop box that is now available.

1:19

And Deanna Gardner's gonna say a little bit about that.

Speaker 2

1:22

Um the after hours drop box um is located under the bulletin board in the Central Station Courtyard.

1:28

Um, so our new posting location outside the building.

1:31

Um, when the building is secured for the evening, 7 p.m.

1:35

to 7 a.m.

1:36

That box can be used and it will only be emptied on business days once a day, 8 a.m.

1:42

So if it is after 8 a.m.

1:43

and you are dropping off your taxes, please come into the building to do so.

1:46

The drop box in the building will still be there and usable any time if you just want to pop in and drop it in the slot and not actually come in and get everything stamped, so that's still available during business hours.

Town Manager Jay explained the limited municipal role (collecting payments and forwarding them to Mass Development) and benefits such as increased property assessments and new growth. Approximately 85 of 351 municipalities have adopted the program. The board voted to adopt the resolution authorizing participation.
  • Liaison Assignments: The board continued discussions on select board member assignments to various town committees and boards. Jared expressed interest in trails, parks, and Kennedy Park; a potential working group for trails and open space planning was proposed. Other assignments discussed included the Chamber of Commerce, Cultural Council, Community Events, Housing Authority, and land use boards (Planning, Zoning, Historic District Commission). The library board of trustees and LLA assignments were temporarily tabled due to ongoing structural discussions. Members agreed to hold a retreat after summer to set priorities.
