Miami City Board Nuisance Abatement Hearing - July 22, 2026
The Miami City Board met on July 22, 2026, at 10:00 AM to address nuisance abatement cases. After the Pledge of Allegiance, oath for non-attorney witnesses, and roll call establishing a quorum (Mr. Williams, Mr. Rodriguez, Mr. Rainus, Mr. Galan, Mr. Moshi present), the board processed several cases. Four cases were disposed of without a full hearing: two were reset for September, and two were withdrawn due to compliance. The board then held a hearing on one remaining case, resulting in a guilty plea with a compliance plan.
Discussion Items
- Case 1278 Northwest 58th Terrace (Case 24-12): Reset for September.
- Case 1969 Northwest Second Court, Apartment 13 (Case 2516): Reset for September.

- Case 1283 Northwest 59th Street (Case 25-09): Owner Najib Igbal, present with Officer Robbins from the city, entered a plea of guilty to continue compliance. Officer Robbins confirmed that the owner had completed the trespass affidavit and posted required signage. Remaining items included trimming trees, installing additional lighting, and providing a copy of rent rolls. The board discussed the need for a permit for tree trimming. The city requested a motion for a finding of guilt with compliance by the next hearing in October.
Key Outcomes
- The board approved a motion to find the owner guilty of nuisance abatement for the property at 1283 Northwest 59th Street, with conditions to trim trees, install additional lighting as directed by the city, and provide rent rolls.
