Good morning, everyone. My name is Natalie Fanny Gonzalez. Today is April 21st. And we have two really cool proclamations. The first one is a proclamation recognizing Building Safety Month by Council President Natalie Fanny Gonzalez with I don't see him here. The count executive. Let's imagine that he's here. If anybody who came for this proclamation, please come come forward. Hey everybody. You guys come in. Come in. Spread the love here. Spread the love. Don't be shy. Good morning, everybody. Today's building safety month celebration. Let's put that way. And I have the great honor of being with our public safety team and DPS and the housing community office and everybody's here. I'm gonna allow you guys to please introduce yourselves. And for one moment, I thought you were Mark Elrich, but no, you're not. Um great timing. I looked at him and I thought it's you. You made it on time. Uh great promotion. Oh, until December, though. Okay, so Mark, can you get closer, please? Um, thank you all for being here today. I have had three cups of coffee and no food, so bear with me. We're getting unlike like this. We're getting an early start to celebrating Building Safety Month, just a bit ahead of May, right? Uh because when it comes to safety, it is always the right time to recognize it. So we can do this every single day of the year. Um that's the whole point. This building safety month, we're proud to celebrate the safe and resilience buildings that support our community every single day. Our homes, schools, and workplaces are a month, are more than just buildings. They are spaces that help our community thrive in good times and protect us during emergencies. Today we celebrate the incredible professionals who make that possible, from inspectors and engineers to builders and treats people who work year around to keep Montgomery County safe and thriving for all. This year's theme, Built to Last, reminds us to keep pushing for stronger, safer, and more resilient buildings for our communities. Thank you to everyone for joining us today to celebrate Building Safety Month and the people and partnerships that keep Montgomery County safe. It's a great honor to be here with Account Executive Mark Elrich. Um and I'm gonna turn it to him. Thank you. So when you're building something, you definitely want it to last. So built to last is a good theme for this. Umgomery County and our permitting services department. Uh building safety is a priority. And we have our permit tacticians, plan reviewers, and inspectors and field supervisors and fire marshals. They work every day to keep buildings that where we live and work and where we learn, make them safe, and make sure that they stay safe. DPS is Montgomery County's front line of the building safe way safety. And it works to prevent issues before they occur from structural failures to electrical hazards to fire risks.
