Good morning, everyone. My name is Natalie Fanning Gonzalez. Today's June 30th. Welcome back to the county council session. Before we begin, I'm gonna ask everyone to see if you can please take a moment of silence. Oh no, it's gonna happen. As you all know, um my family is from Caracas. And it has been quite the tragic um tragic few days. And a reminder that anything can change in people's lives in a matter of seconds. And I'm blessed that both of my brothers who live in Caracas, they're saved, as long as well as their family, but thousands of people have are still missing. Thousands have died. Even little children. Um the other day I found out that a little league of baseball team, kids who are 10, 11 years old, all died. And it's just a reminder that at the end of the day, whatever we do here, we need to hold on to our humanity and ensure that we do things people because we care about this world, and we need to remind the people who are with us that we love them. And um, and it has been really amazing to see the worldwide um love that they have for our communities and seeing so many people from across the world arriving in Venezuela just to help. And um, including people from the Washington, DC region, local restaurants sending supplies, and um I feel like I had to say that if and if you guys are okay, if we can take a minute, that'll be great. And with that, I thank you all. And we're gonna begin with uh general business. Um are there any announcements? Thank you, Madam President. Good morning. Today, council members Balcom and Sales are attending this meeting virtually. Thank you, Madam President. Thank you very much, and we have the minutes from May 12th and 13, 2026. Council sessions, May 14, 2026 by county budget session and May 14, 15, 21, and June 9, 2026. Council sessions have been circulated to the council for review. Are there any? Are there any objections? See no proof of second. And now the council will now sit as the board of health for the biannual update. If we can have everybody from this item come forward. And I'm gonna ask council staff to please take it away. And as always, QA will be at the end. Uh good morning, council president and all council members. Um, we are sitting as the Board of Health as required by the state of Maryland. Um, the county has to sit as the Board of Health twice a year. Um, it is recommended May and October, where we know May is an intense month for us. So usually we meet in June and we will have our secondary meeting in October. I want to thank um excuse me. I want to thank Dr. Keisha Davis and her team for um organizing the slides and providing and um all the information and coordinating with us. And with that, uh I will delve into the presentation. Um we will um, if the council members would like, we can send the presentation to you after we are completed. And thank you so much. I don't know. Good morning, and Council President Fanny Gonzalez, we share your empathy and concern and prayers for folks who are in Venezuela. So thank you for reminding us of the empathy and humanity that exists among all of us. This is our biannual Board of Health update. We have a marathon of information to cover. We probably won't get through all of it, and so if y'all want to say stop anytime, we can stop.
