Um welcome everyone to the uh March thirteenth Cable Television Advisory Board.

Um at the moment we're still quite a ways from a quorum.

So um we will uh begin with just uh the reports and the correspondence and then we'll uh w when we res uh have a quorum we'll do the roll call and then proceed with any votes that we need to make um just so that we can be efficient with people's time.

Uh so Mr.

Paynert, would you like to start us off?

Uh yes.

Uh Jeff Painter Peg Manager uh our financials uh as of right now, our current balance of operating account 2505 is 195,000 377 uh 69 cents.

Um our expenses for February tw 2026, including salaries and facility operations totaled 30,646 dollars.

Um for operations, we had uh 5,944 cable casts total in December uh 2025 to February 2026.

Of this 142 live events, and this broke down to uh public 25 education 41 and government sixteen uh I mean government forty I'm sorry, education forty-one, uh government forty-four, and our HD channel was thirty-two.

We had five hundred and uh five thousand seven hundred forty-four playbacks, and this broke down to public at uh two thousand nine hundred six, uh education nine hundred, and government sixteen eight hundred and fifty-nine, and our HD channel seven hundred and seventy-seven.

Uh we have submitted our five uh uh FY 2027 budget proposal, and this includes our franchise fee allotment to now reflect a four percent franchise fee collection.

Uh uh director Tim Cummings has confirmed that the mayor agrees to the four percent, and we also would like to ask for a budget uh subcommittee to be formed um concerning the budget coming up.

The the the budget of 2027 and 2028.

Um our next meeting uh in June, we would like to host our June CTAB meeting in our studio at Riverside.

Uh the work uh on the police department side is basically completed, so we could we can hold a meeting there now, and we'd like to do that in June.

Uh we will need to schedule our annual appearance in front of the finance committee earlier this year to issue the purchase order for the BRB TV contract.

Last year we didn't appear appear until mid-July, requiring our public TV people to front the money for insurance and software licensing that were due July first uh from their personal accounts.

Um up until now we have no written policy as to our videographers being compensated for canceling uh meetings.

It has been our practice through the years to compensate our videographers for four hours if a meeting is canceled on the day of that meeting.

The fact that we have no written policy concerning this has come to light as as I decided to compensate our videographers for the cancellation due to the February 23rd snowstorm, even though they had been uh postponed prior to that day.

We'd like to put in writing that it is our policy to compensate for cancel canceled meetings only if they are postponed on the actual day of the meeting.

All right, uh as far as the uh Pete Johnson, I'm the education channel access administrator, big title.

Um moving on to um the education channel report, um our accomplishments for December.

It's been a busy uh few months.

Uh obviously we were back in the business of doing some holiday concerts uh this past uh December uh and also the beginning of um sports season, the winter sports season happened uh a little earlier this year uh before Christmas.

Uh obviously we were back in the business of doing some holiday concerts uh this past uh December uh and also the beginning of um sports season the winter sports season happened a little earlier this year uh before Christmas so we've got several uh basketball games there, hockey game and um concerts in our schools.

So and if we go back to the second page um trying to see things that might be out of the ordinary, we did the inauguration um at the beginning of January, and that was done at the performing arts center.

Um uh notable thing is that the two north and south high schools have combined uh into one hockey team this year for the boys, and they are now called the nights, the Nashua Nights, and um we also have a girls' hockey team now that's um also has Sohegan as um a participating school in that and they're called the storm, and early in January we did a uh double header with them at Conway Arena so that uh the community could see both of those teams in action.

Um back to some more basketball.

Um we did the middle school basketball championships that were held at Nashua North.

Um we did the mayor's legislative breakfast at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center, and unified basketball is always a big uh treat for us to go out and cover and uh we did the unified basketball game at the end of the month as well as the battle of the bridge games um that were held in February, uh a little less uh action going on there, but we did um I in education programs and the winter concert by the New Hampshire um Upbeat New Hampshire, excuse me, and uh live coverage of the junior biddy basketball championships for um public works and there was one last battle of the bridge match going on, and that was in wrestling, and actually the battle of the bridge came down to the very final match of the wrestling match, and I believe it was North that that finally won that.

So more basketball, and we did uh several public health matters uh in studio during the three-month period.

So I think at the moment that's it.

Throughout the last quarter, we ran approximately 3,000 shows showing our coverage of 24-7 content on uh channel six.

We had approximately 25 live events that uh included uh content from Mayor Jim Donchus, County Treasurer David Fredette, AMR Director Chris Stawaz, Nashville Fire Rescue Chief Steve Buxton representatives from the National Police Department.

Live coverage also included Breakfast with Sanner at the Nashua Senior Center, Nashville Choral Society.

Uh we had uh multiple days, uh about six hours of blizzard coverage, so we could have live cameras uh watching the snow hit Main Street as well as the various cameras around uh from the Nashville River National Arts Center, uh Dashwood Senior Center, the Chamber of Commerce Camera, Mines Falls Camera, and uh West Hollist Street cameras.

Uh all the shows that uh we that we record in the in the studio are uploaded to Apple and to Roku, so people have a variety of sources to uh watch, whether it's through a cable box on Channel 6, whether it's through the streaming service uh of uh uh Nash Republic Television uh website uh as well as through the Roku and Apple channels.

Uh myself and Art Colvin, our part-time employee attended the quarterly lunch and learn meetings that uh we attend with Pete Johnson and Dan Young.

There is typically about 25 people that attend those from 10 to 12 different uh towns and cities throughout the the state.

So we get together quarterly.

We just met last week.

You'll hear about that in June, but this was for our December get together.

Uh otherwise it's business as usual, our usual content uh and hosts are coming in.

We did add one uh real estate show during the last quarter.

Um but um we can continue with uh discussion and updates.

Um Mr.

Painter, um the on the old business we had franchise fees.

Was that further discussion or just the report from the report?

That was really uh the report from you know that we had submitted the budget.

Correct, because we had talked about that in the last meeting.

Um and we already addressed the uh BRB uh renewal contract uh purchase order, which again has to come through the city administration.

Uh the June meeting being held at the studio.

Um, I think someone had mentioned that they would like to see a budget subcommittee formed.

From last the subcommittee that we had uh put together originally I as far as I know that was just all I'm sorry, there's uh Jeff Painter peg man attorney.

Yeah, that was an ad hoc committee that we formed to address the specific issue then.

Um basically what's being proposed is that we do the same thing now.

Um going forward, uh provide recommendations um for the upcoming uh budget seasons.

Um so if anyone's interested in being a part of that, um we would be eager to have their uh their volunteer uh time for that.

Um we've been uh a couple of the overhead office lights, the fluorescent lights that we have, not the in-studio lighting have started to go bad.

We've got some fluorescent tubes that are starting to go.

Um so we've been in discussion with uh Doria uh from the sustainability department about um the possibility of of what it would take to replace those overhead lights with with much more modern um energy efficient lighting, and by the next meeting we should have a better idea and a proposal of what that might cost uh to replace the whole thing versus um just replacing just individual bulbs and what the energy efficiency over time would be.

I've got one thing as well, Pete Johnson um with the education channel again.

I know um at the last meeting it was sort of discussed um ways that we might be able to uh let the public know that we're out there, and um one thing that we did um during the last quarter was purchase a couple of um table uh covers that have a drop down on the front and the sides, and uh we now have one for a six-foot and an eight-foot table that we're utilizing at basketball games.

So the front panel has the Nashua ETV logo on it, as well as uh text is where you can find the the um uh channels and where you can go to get it on uh streaming.

And on the two side wings, there are our QR codes, and that brings you as well to a listing of where you can find us.

Um people coming over and asking about it.
