Park Rehabilitation Trust Fund 53 Professional and Technical Services $63,760 and 94 cents.

This contract will allow us to uh have uh the Turner Group create engineering uh spec plans that we can then go out to bid with to uh for new construction to replace rotary pool, which was constructed in 1973.

I'd be happy to answer any questions on this topic if there are any.

And I believe you've said previously that the pool is close to failure, and that's why this is going forward.

That is correct.

Uh Director Conan, would this be a complete redesign of the pool, or are you looking at only uh certain aspects of it, the liner, the the uh et cetera, et cetera.

We would be looking at a complete replacement.

No, the plan is to keep it in use this summer and get it through the season as in previous years.

Um in our realistic, you know, I think a realistic goal and one that we hope we can achieve.

Um so that's our plan, anyways.

I'd like to make a motion to accept the place on file and approve amendment number four to the engineering services agreement for the Walnut Street Oval Intersection Project with Hoyle Tanner and Associates Incorporated in the amount not to exceed 256,168.25 cents.

Funding will be through Department 160 admin engineering fund, bond and grant 53 professional and technical services.

So this is to amend the Wall Renoble project as described.

This is to enter into final design.

We've completed preliminary design.

That's been submitted to the state.

So we're waiting for them to review and give us comments on that.

But we need to expand oiltainers contract to complete the final design, which is take us all the way through bidding.

We have a target advertisement date in January of next year.

Should everything go to plan in terms of right-a-way negotiations and everything else, uh, we're seeking to target that date.

So be happy to address any questions.

Um and assuming that you hit your target date for the bid of January.

Uh it's it's a good question.

It's a full season of construction, so I would expect the bulk of the work to be done next summer and fall.

Um there may be a few things to come back, you know, find the plantings and things like that, come back and wrap up in the following season.

Uh so I would expect to be fully complete in the spring of 28.

Uh related but not really related.

Uh Water Street.

I know we're going to make that a uh two-way street as opposed to a one-way street.

When does that happen?

Uh good question.

So we actually have a project out to bid right now.

It was a child project that broke off of this project that would do the reversal of uh West Pearl Street, um, and it would make Factory Street two-way.

Uh Water Street is intended to be one way, as the board previously approved, but we still need to review and and determine uh what portion of it should be one way.

I think we may still want the end of it uh closer to Main Street to be two way, just so that four water street and some other properties, you know, from that parking lot and get back to Main Street.

But that's something that we need to further look into as part of the Water Street project, which is on like you said, is unrelated, but something that we need to finalize.

Funding will be through Department 185 Sustainability Fund, Grant General Fund, and Mine Falls Park Trust Fund 54 property services.

Hi, good evening, Deb Chisholm Sustainability Department Manager.

I am back here for my annual meeting with you guys regarding uh aquatic invasive species in the river.

This is the um the big year where we do both the Nashua River and we do the mill pond and a portion of the canal that leads from the mill pond um eventually back into the Nashville River.

But uh the portion that is really right near the Nashville South High School.

Um this year we're doing um all of that the cost on that contract, similar to previous years.

We are fortunate uh for the Department of Environmental Services to provide um up to 50 percent of the costs associated with this work, um which they do every year.

Um I will also clarify.

I think in the in the subject in the title um on your in the packet, it also referred to doing um curly leaf pondweed in Sandy Pond, um, which is true, uh but that is going to be done under what we've done is sort of separate the contracts.

Um we've got this one contract, and because it involves grant money, um we want to make sure that that uh work stays separate.

So we also have a small um less than five thousand dollar contract for um same company Solitude to do what they're gonna do is uh monthly monitoring and application of herbicide if necessary and do some evaluation of some of the shoreline um invasives as well to sort of give us a a bit more of a handle on Sandy Pond.

I know if Alderman Thibault was here, he would be cheering because we've had some some serious issues with the uh with the water quality out in Sandy Pond.

But again, that's sort of a a separate one that's not here for your approval.

Um but I thought you might like to hear about that.

Um but but what we are here is to um get approved is the is the 161 so we can get started on this season.

So the 161 is um our portion of it, DES is picking up the other 161 is the total contract amount.

DES will pay for half of that.

Okay, so the city will only be on the other for the yeah.

Uh because I know there are some lakes in New Hampshire that you know you have to rinse off the propeller or you don't allow boats or things like that to try to control it.

Do we do anything like that?

We do not currently have a system of volunteers who will be checking boats.

We do not have that.

Um and I know I know I've seen that in other locations.

Petuckaway um lake has had folks out there, um, a couple other lakes that I've been to, same thing.

Um they get volunteers out there to evaluate boats and make sure they're not dragging stuff from one water body to another, but we we don't currently have that.

We do ask people to do that.

Mayor, I just wanted to make a comment that last night I went out to dinner and um uh the person I was with um asked this this table of young ladies because they were laughing and they were waving at everybody that walked by.

It's like, do you know all these people?

And they said, no, we just love coming here and having a good time.

And he said, do you live here?

And they said no.

Um we don't we don't uh live here in the city.

One of them said that they had lived in Nashua, but absolutely loved coming to Nashua for the restaurants and things, and they lived in Lowell.

And Lowell has a lot of wonderful restaurants.

So to have someone say that they want to drive out of the way to Nashua, um, and they were having a really good time.

Um, and it was nice to see some young people just sitting there having a good time at the restaurant, and um, you know, on a Sunday evening, it was just really nice.

So it's nice to hear really positive things about our our our beautiful city.
