I'm gonna call a special meeting of the Board of Alderman to order on Wednesday, June 10th, 2026 in the Aldermanic Chamber, which has been duly noticed in two places, including the city's website in accordance with the requirements of RSA 918.

The prayer will be offered by Dan Healy and uh City Clerk Dan Healy and Alderman Ravan will lead us in the pledge to the flag.

Almighty God, we have the high honor and the serious duty to manage the affairs of our beloved city.

Fill us, oh God, with a spirit of unity and understanding, which enables us to face our multiple problems with a serene mind with justice and charity for all, so that any and all decisions made by us will always be for the betterment and greater happiness of all our fellow citizens.

Communication has been received from Daniel Healy, City Clerk, regarding issuance of warrant to chief of police for unlicensed dogs.

Alderman Dowd.

I'd like to make a motion to accept and place on file and commit the warrant to the chief of police to issue the civil forfeiture by roll call.

Yes, could you please explain what this procedure is?

Yes.

So this is in uh state RSA.

It's required for the clerk to present to the governing body annually the list of unlicensed dogs.

Um which if you'd like to view the list, it's available in the city clerk's office.

It's not public, but being the Alderman that approved the list, you're entitled to view it.

And these are these are residents that have not renewed their dog licenses from the prior year.

If they have a phone number, we've done two uh robocalls.

And then everyone that remains unlicensed, every dog that remains unlicensed, we've sent a postcard to those residents.

Um so we've done all the communication available and um dog licenses were due April 30th.

Uh May is a grace period, dollar month fine start June 1st, and after June 20th, the $25 civil forfeiture fine kind of be applied with approval of the governing body.

So then does the dog officer go and um remove the dog off the premises or what exactly I just want to know because so people can hear this also, you know.
