And where individuals who choose to run for municipal office do so out of a deep commitment to their community and bring with them a diverse set of values, talents, and perspectives.

And whereas those elected to office accept the important responsibility of setting public policy and confronting complex issues for the betterment of their community.

And whereas public service requires significant dedication, often in addition to personal and professional obligations, and demands a thoughtful and informed approach to governance.

And whereas Michael Nash answered the call to public service once again and served as Ward 5 Councilmember from July 11th, 2023 to August 12th, 2025.

And whereas his tenure, though brief, Councilmember Nash demonstrated a commendable commitment to his constituents, placing a strong emphasis on communication, transparency, and advocacy.

His diligence is thoroughly, his diligence in thoroughly reviewing council materials and contributing to informed decision making is worthy of recognition and appreciation.

Now therefore it be resolved by the Council of the City of Norman, Oklahoma, that the City Council on behalf of the citizens of Norman formally extend its gratitude and appreciation to Michael Nash for his service to the community as Ward 5 Councilmember and offers best wishes for continued success in all future endeavors.
