0:03

Please join me in the Pledge of Allegiance.

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America.

0:15

One indivisible with liberty.

0:26

Well, as we begin our meeting this evening, we'll take a moment to acknowledge that we have a quorum of planning commissioners present with eight of nine commissioners in attendance.

0:34

We're missing Commissioner Corcoran tonight.

0:38

I want to thank everyone in the chamber for attending this evening's meeting.

0:42

Planning Commission meetings are an important part of the process for interpreting and applying the city's comprehensive plan and unified development ordinance.

0:49

It's important that our meetings are conducted with dignity and respect.

0:53

That applies to every person in attendance.

0:56

We strive to provide an atmosphere where the ideas and opinions of all participants are held in the highest regard.

1:02

Finally, the actions on the issues we discuss are ultimately under the responsibility of the City Council.

1:08

As a planning commission, we're here to help the council as our elected representatives to be fully informed to make the best choices for our city.

1:16

By statute, the planning commission strives not to engage with any party on the issues on our agenda prior to the tonight's meeting.

1:23

Should that interaction take place as a result of a business relationship or any other interaction, which we refer to as ex parte communication, commissioners will report that interaction when we reach that item in the agenda.

1:38

We'll now move forward on to our consent agenda.

1:40

And this evening we have three items on the consent agenda.

1:44

Commissioners, do you need any items pulled for additional information or questions from staff?

1:54

Seeing none, um, I will call for a motion on passage of the consent agenda.

2:00

Mr.

2:00

Chair, I'll move to approve the consent agenda.

2:02

Thank you, Commissioner Breen.

2:04

Do I have a second?

2:05

Second.

2:05

Thank you, Commissioner Chapman.

2:07

All those in favor say aye.

2:09

Aye.

2:10

Opposed nay.

2:11

That motion passes eight to zero.

2:16

Move on to our regular business.

2:18

This evening we have four scheduled public hearings.

2:21

The first public hearing is a request for the approval of plat of a plat and vacation of utility easement for Premier Business Park, which is located in the southwest of Kansas Avenue and Southgate Street.

2:34

Ms.

2:34

Morgan, welcome.

2:35

She'll present our case this evening.

2:37

Hi, good evening, Commissioners.

2:38

Andrew Morgan, planner two.

2:40

As introduced, the following is a request for approval for a final Plat off Premier Business Park.

2:47

Most PLATs are on consent, but this one includes a vacation of a utility easement, therefore requires a public hearing.

2:54

The subject property highlighted in yellow is approximately 1.38 acres and located southwest of South Kansas Avenue and East Southgate Street.

3:05

The Plat will establish lot lines and dedicate public easements and vacate a utility easement.

3:11

The Plat will combine the northern unplatted portion of the property and the southern platted portion into one lot for the construction of two contractors' garages.

3:21

And the final plat is consistent with the preliminary site development plan, which was approved at the June 9th meeting.

3:27

As previously stated, this PLT includes a vacation of a 10-foot utility easement highlighted here in yellow.

3:35

There are no known existing utilities in this easement.

3:39

All public notification requirements were met.

3:42

Staff did not receive any correspondence related to this case, and consent was provided by all but two utility providers and was also provided by the City of Olatha Engineering staff.

3:53

Staff recommends approval of the final plat application as stipulated.

3:58

And this concludes my presentation.

4:00

I'm happy to stand for any questions.

4:03

Thank you.

4:03

Is the applicant present and would they like to make any presentation at all?

4:08

No.

4:09

Okay.

4:10

Um have any questions for staff?

4:18

Seeing none, I will open the public hearing.

4:21

However, we have no one signed up for this particular item.

4:25

So I will entertain a motion to close the public hearing.

4:29

So moved.

4:30

Thank you, Commissioner Breen.
