NYMEC serves as the broker and consultant for the village's electrical aggregation program.

Adam Hoover from NYMEC is here tonight to present an opportunity for community solar aggregation program.

Hi, how are you?

Many of you have seen me, hopefully, before.

My name's Adam Hoover.

Many of you have probably seen my father, Dave Hoover, before.

He's now doing more golfing and babies and the grandkids now.

So and we help with the village of Oswegos.

I'm gonna just skip over this with the with the uh the their your current power accounts.

The one thing that's not listed on here that I forgot to mention, we also help with your current aggregation program.

Uh that is with your residents, uh, and they are currently being served the exact same rate as COMED.

Some are, and I don't want to bore you, and I can answer these questions, but some residents are being served the Commed rate uh by MC Square, still billed by ComED, still having energy delivered by COMED.

In turn, you're receiving $12,000 a year.

Um that I believe you guys are hopefully trying to use for sustainability purposes.

Um that is going through uh October of next year, so you'll see me here in the summer to go over renewal options.

So if you have any questions about that, I could take that as well.

Um but the main reason I'm here is because of uh the city's power accounts.

Uh you guys currently have about 20 accounts, um, and they current have a current rate of 6.27 cents with NRG.

Sorry that the font always gets mixed up.

I can never get it right with my Google.

Um, but uh you have a 6.27 rate with uh NRG.

The current COMED rate is about 9.7 cents.

Um so we're saving about $92,000 annually in comparison to the COMED rate.

That's kind of our primary focus of what we do.

But I also just want to make you aware that the previous contract that you had was about 5.5 cents, and so it's upgraded to 6.2 cents this past year.

So you guys had about an annual increase of about 35,000 dollars.

Uh that is not just the village, that is everyone.

Uh it's everyone in America, everyone I think in the world.

Um, but I just want to make you guys aware that your budget has increased.

So we have one proposal for you that might be something of interest.

Uh today I'm not I don't have a specific contract in front of you.

Um I'm at kind of asking, do you want me to go look for it?

Um and I can go into the why we do it that process if you're interested as well.

But what community solar is is it is a program that is guaranteed to provide 10% savings while still finding the fixed rate savings that NYMEC brings.

Based on the current comed rate and what it was this year, we believe that you guys would have saved around 40,000.

Um so I am not asking to install solar panels anywhere.

Um it is a state of Illinois credit.

You would be the best word I use is you would be renting solar panels from rural Illinois.

I was out actually driving in Dixon today to see a couple of our other towns we work with, and I saw about three or four of these huge solar farms that you know you guys could be renting power from.

In turn, you guys would receive 10% off, which I said is about 40,000.

Once again, this is a state funded program.
