The Village Board of Oswego held a regular meeting on January 20, 2026. Up first, we have our business of the month recognition. If I can have uh Megan and anyone else from Florida Expressions, along with our EDC members and Kevin Lighty come to the front and join me. I'd like to extend our congratulations to Floral Expressions for being featured as the Economic Development Commission's Business of the Month for January. Each month, the economic development commissioners nominate and vote on a business to feature which has demonstrated significant involvement in the Oswego community. This month features Flor Floral Expressions, a family-owned business co-owned by Terry Platt and her daughter, Megan Delaringa. Welcome. Floral Expressions is a full service florist that specializes in weddings, events, funerals, along with daily deliveries. Floral Expressions has been at its current location at sixty-seven Main Street in downtown Oswego since 2009. Before that, they had been in Mason Square Shopping Center since Terry founded the business in November 2001, which means they will be celebrating their twenty-fifth anniversary this year. Congratulations on that. Floral Expressions is known for their modern and unique custom floral designs. Help customers create beautiful floral pieces for any budget. In addition to being a florist, Floral Expressions has two other businesses under the same roof. Lil M's opened in the spring of 2012 and sells clothing and accessories for newborns and toddlers, while gourmet and specialty kitchen retailer Epicure opened early last year. Over its more than twenty-four years in business, Floral Expressions has also been considerably involved in the Oswego community. In combination with being active members of the chamber and the downtown association, Floral Expressions has been a regular sponsor of numerous community events, as well as frequent in-kind donor to various causes, but most notably to seniors in nursing homes.
