We'll go ahead and do the Pledge of Allegiance.

Uh it is open public comment period.

Council members, um, every five years, the Census Bureau does a survey of the state and local governments in years ending in two and seven.

The survey results show the structure, function, employment, and finances of state and local government governmental units.

Just thank 2710 Census Bureau.

It's really easy.

It's good worked out pretty good for me.

2027 will be the first year of a new five-year CIP.

Now this the county had financed the health service building during the uh 2023 higher interest rate environment.

So I came up with, I thought maybe September of this year of 2027 would be a good backup time.

Good backup, you know, in case the economy sloughed off a little bit.

So in five years, 60% of our population will be over the age of 65.

So the 2030 census will say that the X generation is finally going into the retirement mode.

In 2032, the Social Security Fund will be insolvent.

In 1977, I always considered it my kind of my base year to study for this time in our nation's history.

1977, my grandma's basement began flooding in Roland Park due to the upstream development.

Well, they they fixed all that stuff, the sewers and the got that all done.

And then at the turn of the century, we put a stormwater tax on our property tax bills.

In 1977, if you were in the Johnson County Wastewater Service Area, you had a sewer tax on your bill.

Now we have a dual bi-monthly billing that's based on last year's water usage.

Just look at the back of your bill, it'll kind of give you an idea where it's going.

In the summer of 1977, the Department of Energy came out.

I uh maybe at this time I thought we should go ahead and merge it with the Department of the Interior.

In that fall of that year, I was in eighth grade when the 30-year treasury bonds came out.

You thought the world was going to end, you know, all the other putting it off for another generation.

Those started coming due in 2007.

All that said, that that summer I always got to thinking this must be some kind of a sign when uh Ben Craig and Metcalf State Bank sponsored my baseball team that summer.

Um Ed Eilert used to be on that board of uh directors at one point.

I met him when I was seven at Overland Park Christian Church.
