What's on our agenda tonight is simply to approve forwarding it to the planning commission for their review.

1:17

Um the site plan, the drawings, and your cover letter are here.

1:21

I thank you for coming.

1:28

think

Speaker 2

1:29

perhaps you don't need to stay.

Unassigned speaker

1:31

Don't need to burn it.

Speaker 2

1:33

Okay, to make sure that everything was in order.

1:35

Thank you.

1:35

Uh okay.

1:36

Um, a very thorough presentation.

1:39

1:58

Hold on a minute.

1:59

Or I guess maybe I will

Unassigned speaker

2:04

just

Speaker 2

2:05

share my screen to get to the resolution so there's not much to see.

2:07

Is there a motion to open a public hearing regarding the cable and franchise renewal agreement by and between the village of Pleasantville and Verizon New York?

2:15

So we'll second.

Speaker 3

2:16

Second.

Speaker 2

2:17

All in favor?

Speaker 3

2:18

Aye.

Speaker 2

2:18

Aye.

2:19

Motion approved.

2:20

Um attached to the agenda is the franchise renewal agreement, uh, which is required.

2:29

We uh engaged the services of an attorney in Pennsylvania, actually, who specializes in this stuff for a variety of reasons.

2:38

Uh uh the flexibility communities have uh to negotiate these agreements have been substantially reduced based on the both the evolution of the industry and the evolution of the FCC rules.

2:51

Any comment you want to make about that, Eric Morrissey, who is on Zoom but uh protecting us from the cold he has.

Speaker 4

3:00

Yes.

3:01

Um, just high level overview.

3:03

It's a uh five-year agreement.

3:06

Um it sets our franchise fee at 5% of uh Verizon's annual growth gross revenue derived from cable services uh within the village.

3:16

So for perspective um in fiscal year end 2025, that was 68,000.

3:22

So that actually goes up a bit in this new agreement.

3:25

Um Verizon uh can uh terminate the contract with a 12-month uh notification, which is industry standard.

3:36

Um but otherwise uh there is oh they are going to maintain the peg uh access channels, so that's public educational governmental.

3:46

Uh we will not or do not plan to utilize it, uh, but it will be made available if and when we determine the

Unassigned speaker

3:53

need.

Speaker 2

3:54

I'd add to that the school district as of the moment is aligned with us.
