And do we want to start with the part, the reports?

Hopefully the board's doing well tonight.

I wanted to step through a couple of updates with regards to programming projects and community events.

So he's gonna be continuing uh to give the programming report.

So that'll follow some of the things I have to share with you.

Um so I wanted to start off and talk a little bit about uh Enki Park really quickly, um, just down here at the entrance drive of the township building.

Uh we've been busy updating uh you probably have seen if you've driven here maybe during the day, maybe at night too, because I think the signs have a glow to them, they're pretty vibrant.

Um we've we've been trying to um as part of sort of a relocation effort of the parking for the folks that come to the playground, try to get them to park in the creek parking lot.

So if I scroll ahead a little bit, let me jump to this slide first.

Uh so when you come into the township building, um obviously we have an accessible parking lot uh that can quickly you know get those who have the need to the playground um right here uh adjacent to the playground.

And what happens is a lot of people are parking in the they're parking in the upper township lot, the building lot here, and they're also parking in what we refer to as the Ivan uh parking lot.

And a lot of times, you know, we'll see um sometimes four or five uh family members with little kids, you know, walking abreast of one another uh down through this uh sort of a little bit of a it's a tight area when you come up through the bridge.

So you've got cars coming in, cars coming out, we have a lot of traffic that ingress egresses our property, not only from the daily use of the building, but also from the Radner Preserve parking uh Radner Preserve apartments that are here in the back behind us where we have a lot of uh folks that live, a lot of residents live.

I think they're at full capacity at this point.

We have Ratner police sometimes leaving in pursuit.

So there's a lot of traffic here, and having pedestrian traffic in a narrow area where folks are walking to the playground um can be very unsafe.

So we're trying to take some measures to re-educate our playground users to make sure they're parking down here in what we refer to as the creek parking lot.

So in doing so, what we've tried to do is really kind of clutter the entrance area with a lot of signage.

Um as you could see here, we put some fencing up to try to, you know, give it a little bit more of a profound look for folks coming in.

Uh we've been trying to communicate with people, so just short of like putting in a parking person in place here at the township building to accompany those that are using the playground.

We're trying to redirect everybody in that area.

So I had actually presented this to the board I think a year or two ago.

Um, and it continued to just you know be a problem.

Um that's persisted.

So we're just trying to again, you know, ask folks to walk.

Um park basically in the creek lot and then walk across the bridge that we have there.

Um recognizing that you know it is a small bridge.

Um we do have a potential plan in the future to reinstall that bridge, make it accessible, uh, and create you know what is needed there to be able to, you know, safely get people into Enki Park, and then also creating the pathways uh so that they can circumnavigate the park to the ball fields, of course, and especially the playground.

So that's a long-term vision.

It is something that you know is in our capital plan, and hopefully in the future we can fund, but in the meantime, just trying to re-educate folks to come across the bridge and then walk across the grass here and into the uh the playground for their safety.

So I want to do I wanted to address that night and just kind of bring it up and and have an opportunity to talk about it.

So unless you have any questions, I was gonna move on to some new signage.

Does anybody have any questions about that?

Quick question.

Uh any plans on having some type of paving or rocks or something to get along that creek.

I know it can get muddy and also might be also a visual encouragement for people to go that way.

Bill, that's a really great idea, actually.

It reminds me of what we did at the Willows going from the parking lot to the trailhead.

So maybe putting some wood chips down just to identify the area could make it a little bit better.

So I'll definitely make a note of that and we'll we'll talk to public works about that and possibly putting a little pathway across there to give it some identity.

Great idea.

So another update just is um with regards to some signage.

Um as we had been going through the planning process for uh some of the improvements that took place recently at North Wayne Park.

We had uh some stormwater improvements that were made there with fencing and the parking lot had been renovated in recognizing that we don't have you know really clear signage for North Wayne uh for North Wayne Park.

Uh in fact, North Wayne Park doesn't have a really clear address right now either, so we're we're working on that also to try to correct that.

Uh but we did add signage uh right along North Wayne Avenue to identify the park right as you go into the entrance there as you come under the train bridge or approach the train bridge, depending on the direction that you're headed in.

And then at Odorisio Park, what we heard through our last few years of discussions in not having clear identification off of church and Fairview, so we added some signage there as well.

Uh these signs are very similar to what we have uh down in Brynmar that can get you to Bishop Richard Allen Park, uh, which are posted along County Line Road there uh and Brook Street.

So we're excited to finally get these installed.

Uh in fact, we also have some new signage um that's gonna be going in at Friends of Radner Trails Park post project that took place there.

We had uh removed the signs, the old style blue and white signs.

The new ones have been fabricated, so they're gonna be installed most likely next week.

I actually meet with the installer tomorrow to mark out the locations, and then after that, the next one that'll be going in is at West Wayne Preserve.

Um and then behind that, of course, is gonna be some new signage for Fenimore Woods, um, also of course Odorissio on the on the longer term horizon, looking at the willows as well uh in terms of uh replacing the signage there and updating it to the new style that we had debuted in 2015.

So slowly but surely, and we have a lot of parks, so we have a lot of identification to put in and um you know, and obviously only so much uh funding in order to be able to uh uh you know afford those uh eventually we'll have all of the signs replaced to the new style.
