- Mayor Pro Tem Frost introduced the resolution authorizing a settlement payment of $231,272.51 to Maccabee Capital, LLC for property damage to the basement of 401 East State Street.
- An alderman requested an explanation from Director Sanders of the Water Distribution division. Director Sanders described that the city responded to a water main break in the alley between City Hall and 401 East State. While attempting to locate and repair the break, crews removed pavement and inadvertently damaged an extended basement portion of the building, which protrudes approximately 20 feet beyond the exterior wall under the paved alley. The damage resulted from breaking through the pavement covering that underground basement extension.

Director Sanders, can you uh kind of explain to us uh uh what the situation is? Yes, uh there's separate. A third um the City of Road of Rockford Water Um Distribution uh division responded to um a water main break um in the alleyway between or uh uh city hall building and 401 east state uh right out at the uh state street right of way where all of that converges um in the process of trying to uh expose that water main break um by through pavement removal looking for it was bubbling up through the pavement but trying to find the break itself um through the course of that attempt to locate it and repair it they damaged an underground portion of exposed base or uh an extended basement portion of 401 East State. The basement extends out farther than the exterior wall of the building. It extends 20 feet farther in towards the alley, covered with pavement, and that pavement was broken through uh causing damage to the basement of that building. Thank you. Any more questions?
