Welcome to the Active Transportation and Infrastructure Committee meeting of November eighth, twenty twenty-three.

Our committee lays on Sarah Jordan.

We'll provide information and instruction for the public to participate in today's meeting.

While members of the public are able to attend the meeting in person, this meeting is being televised and live streamed on the city's website, and the council administration will continue to make arrangements for the public to comment using the Zoom webinar platform.

Members of the public who wish to provide virtual testimony via call in or internet-based service option must enter the virtual speaking queue within five minutes after the conclusion of in-person public testimony or before the virtual speaking queue is exhausted, whichever occurs first.

Um we have no speakers here in chambers, and I don't see.

Oh, we have one virtual caller.

So I will start the timer for all those indicating if they wish to speak.

Our first speaker is Kathleen Lippett.

Miss Lippett, please unmute yourself and provide your testimony on the past committee actions.

Good morning, Chair and Committee members.

The goals and responsibility.

This is Kathleen Lippitt.

The goals and responsibilities of this committee are extremely important to the environment and the public good.

Several of these infrastructure goals include wastewater infrastructure, water infrastructure, city facilities, park infrastructure, etc.

Especially considering that we are due to have a record snowfall this winter.

Our resources have not been kept up.

The containers for collecting rainwater have not been, uh the money hasn't been spent on those projects.

That those facilities need to be in place before that water comes down.

Otherwise, it just goes straight to the ocean.

And it's wonderful that they're working on Hodges, but that's going to take a long time.

And also reducing for your testimony.

That does conclude your time on the past committee actions.

Not sure what was happening, but my hand kept getting lowered when I was first trying to put it up.

So I don't know if there's a glitch in the matrix.

But um yeah, anything that we're doing to approve any kind of giving sewer water to the people or any of your plans for the infrastructure that you want, um, you know, for the sustainability goals and whatnot, is all based off of you know fraud.

And it's wasteful and it's abuse to the people because we're not providing them with like a real safe drinking water.

I mean, we're willing to put toxic chemicals in there that cost an arm and a leg and continue to raise in price, um, just to pretend to give people something that is, you know, clean and it isn't.
