Our hearts are with the victims and all those affected by this incident.

Our committee liaison, Sarah Jordan will provide information and instruction for the public to participate in this morning's meeting.

Well, members of the public are able to attend the meeting in person.

This meeting is being televised and live streamed on the city's website.

The council administration will continue to make arrangements for the public to comment using the Zoom webinar platform.

Members of the public who wish to provide testimony via a call-in or internet-based service option must enter the virtual queue within five minutes after the conclusion of in-person public testimony or before the virtual speaking queue is exhausted, whichever occurs first.

This will allow for better meeting management between the two platforms and ensure the committee is able to manage and conduct the city business.

My prayers are out there for all involved in that crash this morning.

Thank you aga for giving us a heads up on that.

I'll be speaking on three related items if I can fit it in.

I just kind of put them together this morning.

But they have to do with being on the road and walkability.

So can you hear me okay, Sarah?

Um I want to thank uh SDPD and all the other agencies for uh what they've been doing uh with enforcing and programs related to drivers paying attention on the road, the smart start program, which uh at the end uh I think it's just for the youth, perhaps for everybody though.

Uh they get a certificate and a keychain, uh, and they've seen all those awful videos.

So, you know, they have the keychain that's kind of a reminder, and I think that's a good thing for the youth when they're on the roads, and I'll speak a little bit about the use later.

Uh so let's see, distracted driving enforcement, and so all that has been terrific.

I think it was last month when they did their big focus on it, but I'm sure it's continuing.
