San Diego Budget and Government Efficiency Committee Meeting - September 14, 2022
The Budget and Government Efficiency Committee of the San Diego City Council met on September 14, 2022, at 5:00 PM. Present were Vice Chair Ela Rivera, Councilmember Montgomery Stepp, and Chair Kate (full name not stated). Councilmember Vivi Moreno was absent. Also in attendance were Charles Monica (Independent Budget Analyst), Rodana Charvel (Department of Finance), Matt Yayagin (Mayor's Office), and Marguerite Madaw (City Attorney's Office). The committee approved previous actions, heard no public comment, and considered four agenda items, including a consent item and three discussion items. Consent Calendar
- Item 1: Bentley Systems Contract Extension – A sole source contract extension worth $5 million was presented. - Item 4: FY24 Budget Development and FY23 Budget Monitoring Key Dates – Jillian Cassif (IBA) presented the proposed calendar, which includes an earlier budget priority resolution (October 2022) to allow earlier council input. A minor change was adopted: moving the evening public hearing from a Friday to Wednesday, May 10, 2023, to improve community participation. The committee unanimously approved the calendar with that modification and forwarded it to council.
