All right. Welcome to the Civil Service Commission meeting. I am Commission Vice President Nico Portillo. We are going to do a quick roll call to confirm commissioner attendance. When I call your name, please say present. Commissioner Gover. Present. Commissioner Moore. Present. Commissioner Olson. And I am present. Thank you. Your attendance has been noted. Also joining us today are assistant personnel. And assistant personnel director and layman abound. Deputy Director Karen Darren Keenagan. Senior Deputy City Attorney David Carlin and assistant to the personnel director, Sabah O'Neal. I will now call on Saba to report the commission's action in closed section. Please, Saba. I will now report the actions of the commission from closed session. Number one, public employee deliberation on disciplinary appeal pursuant to California government code section 54957. The Civil Service Commission voted to grant the appeal and rescind the five-day suspension and termination. The Civil Service Commission orders that the appellant be restored to her position effective October 14th, 2023, and should be awarded back pay at 7% interest from the date of her termination to her reinstatement. The vote was four to zero. Number two, public employee deliberation on disciplinary appeal pursuant to California government code section five four nine five seven. Benjamin Weber, the Civil Service Commission voted to deny the appeal and uphold the termination. The vote was four to zero. Number three, public employee appointment pursuant to government code section five four nine five seven, interim personnel director. The civil service commission voted to name David Dallagar as interim personnel director, effective October 9th, 2023. The vote was three to one with Commissioner Olson voting no. Thank you, Saba. Um I wanted to uh raise the possibility of us um expanding the CSC to seven members from five members and it's not on the agenda, but I did want to bring it up as a point of discussion, whether it's this meeting or next.
