Welcome to the Economic Development and Intergovernmental Relations Committee meeting of June twelfth, twenty twenty-four, and our committee liaison, Sarah Jordan will provide information and instruction for the public to participate in today's meeting.

While members of the public are able to end the meeting in person, this meeting is being televised and live streamed on the city's website, and the council administration will continue to make arrangements for the public to comment using the Zoom webinar platform.

Members of the public who wish to provide virtual testimony must enter the virtual queue by raising their hand before the queue closes.

The queue will close when the last virtual speaker finishes speaking or five minutes after in-person testimony ends, whichever occurs first.

This will allow for better meeting management between the two platforms and ensure the committee is able to manage and conduct city business.

Yes, I just wanted to be clear on what I was talking about in the last minutes as far as um what's happening uh with the invasion and the economy is uh you know in a great deficit, yet money tends to be spent towards this, and it's a very large concern as far as how are our communities are going to be able to um they're not thriving, but it how they will continue to attempt to thrive when money is being spent to um go to people that aren't in the community that have um cross the border illegally and are getting more than the people in the communities get, especially um with the storm having happened and so many uh people suffering, just trying to make ends meet.

And so it's the concern of the um what's going to happen in the state of the city as this continues and how the funds will continue to be depleted and what that looks like for us in the future.
