Good afternoon, and welcome to the public safety committee meeting of October 16th, 2024.

Our committee liaison Sarah Jordan will provide information and instructions for the public to participate in today's meeting.

While members of the public are able to attend the meeting in person, this meeting is being televised and live streamed on the city's website, and the council administration will continue to make arrangements for the public to comment using the web Zoom webinar platform.

Members of the public wish to provide testimony via a call-in or an internet-based service option must enter the virtual speaking queue within five minutes after conclusion of in-person public testimony or before virtual before the virtual speaking queue is exhausted, whichever occurs first.

This will allow for better meeting management between the two platforms and ensure the committee is able to manage and conduct city business.

Also attending the meeting today is Laura Easton from the office of the city attorney.

If you are in person, please complete a speaker slip located at the entrance of chambers and place it in the box indicated at the front of the room.

Please do so in a timely manner to ensure proper meeting management.

In-person testimony will conclude before virtual testimony begins.

Members of the public can join the webinar by a computer, tablet, or smartphone by accessing the link which is listed online in the preamble language of the agenda on the city's webpage to join the webinar by telephone, please dial 1669, 2545252.

This information is also available on the agenda and it will appear on the screen during the public comment period for each agenda item.

And as a reminder, members of the public who wish to provide virtual testimony must enter the virtual queue by raising their hand before the queue closes.

This queue will close when the last virtual speaker finishes speaking or five minutes after in-person testimony ends, whichever occurs first.

Please participate via the audio on your phone and mute your TV or computer when it is your turn to speak.

Good afternoon.

Home base, business or home occupation, ceramics manufacturing and kiln operations have been operating since 1984, generating, emitting, producing toxicity in the residential zone, dedicated neighborhood.

I have been in the neighborhood since 1997 and potentially threatened to impact by the toxicity proximate to the industrial business.

I am fearful of my exposure and consequences.

And yet the police cannot stop it, not even material division, air pollution control district city.

Caesar, also a victim of exposure to Toxo City by this kill and ceramics manufacturing.

This is our number one concern in our community West Bank of Choyas Creek, District 9, which is forgotten by our district officials.

We have a street that is thickly vegetated, unattended.

It is a city property, which is to be connected with Altadina and Streamview for services to come to a succor to any parts of this uh community.

We requested bumps on the street uh stream view block.

But up to now, since 2021, it has destroyed property.

It almost endangered life uh lives of the residents, especially children.

We have also carchasis and choice parkway.

We have also carchasis in Choyas Parkway, the creek, Cholas Creek is unattended.

It has toxic liquid we call murky water a uh mosquito breeding uh area.

We have also this construction going on, SDGE, uh transmission uh station, which is supposed to be doing something to protect uh people around from radiation.

Check it.

It's not protective shield, it is impacting humans nearby.

That's only about 50 feet away.

The book says it should be 700 to 1,000 feet.

Why?

Another issue here is what we call home invasion, thanks to the police forces, much qualified.

You were able to stop it.

Remember, the victim is to our right side and front left across the street.
