Uh, welcome to the uh July 15th, 2021 regular meeting of the Government Audit and Oversight Committee of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors.

I am Supervisor Dean Preston, Chair of the Committee, joined by Vice Chair Supervisor Connie Chan, uh, and committee member Supervisor Raphael Mandelin.

The committee clerk is John Carroll.

And I also want to thank Michael Balthasar from SFGov TV for staffing this meeting.

The minutes will reflect that committee members are participating in this remote meeting through video conference to the same extent as if they are physically present in their committee room.

Agenda item number one is a hearing on the investigation of complaints of substandard living conditions at Plaza East and discussions of proposed plans for the property.

Clerk.

And colleagues, we previously held a hearing at the request of residents of Plaza East apartments in the Fillmore in my district regarding living conditions at the property and also redevelopment plans for Plaza East.

To my knowledge, that was the first time that this Board of Supervisors or frankly any elected or appointed body in this city has held a public hearing on Plaza East in recent history.
