I'm Supervisor Miranda Melgar, Chair of the Committee, and I would like to give a very warm welcome to my new committee members.

Supervisor Jackie Fielder, representing District 9.

Welcome, Supervisor Fielder and Supervisor Blauma Mood, our newly elected supervisor for District 5.

They are temporarily assigned to this committee until we get permanent assignments.

Agenda item number one is a resolution authorizing acceptance and recording of 132 avigation easements from various property owners in San Mateo County required for the San Francisco International Airports Noise Insulation Program.

The resolution affirms the planning department's determination under CEQA and authorizes the director of property to execute documents, make certain modifications, and take certain actions in furtherance of the resolution as defined within the resolution text.

Good afternoon, Sher Melgar and Supervisors Fielder and Mahmood.

Congratulations on your first Board of Supervisors Committee meeting.

My name is Deanna Volick with the San Francisco International Airport.

The item before you requests your approval to accept and record 132 avigation easements from property owners located within the vicinity of the airport that are affected by aircraft noise.

This is part of the airport's federally funded noise insulation program in which the airport minimizes noise impact and provides noise insulation to affected properties within a certain geographic range dictated by the Federal Aviation Administration.

In exchange, the property owners sign avigation easements that protect the airport from potential lawsuits by acknowledging the city and county of San Francisco's right to permit the flight of aircraft through the airspace above and in the vicinity of the properties.

And it grants the right to employ impose noise, sound, vibration, and other environmental effects incidental to the operation of the aircraft.

This resolution would approve the acceptance of the easements and allow the Department of Real Estate to execute and file the documents.

I just had a quick question on the how to this happens.

Yes.

Do we have like a uh MOU or working relationship with uh San Mateo County or the um you know municipalities where these properties are to uh collaborate on getting the word out or um you know uh sort of streamlining the work that is done in these homes to mitigate the noise impacts.

Uh I'll defer to my colleague Luis to talk about the um partnership accounting.

Um to my knowledge, there is no existing MOU.

What we do is we are continuing the partnership and the um being good stewards to our surrounding communities by providing the sound insulation treatments to our residents.
