- Mayoral Appointment, Building Inspection Commission – Lindsey Maclise (File 250669): The committee reviewed the nomination of Lindsey Maclise for a term ending July 1, 2026. Ms. Maclise described her background, including nearly two decades of residence in San Francisco, experience working with developers, institutional clients, and individual homeowners, and prior service on the Structural Engineering Association Board, the AE Business Leaders Board, and as chair of the Civil Engineering Department Board at UC Berkeley. She also serves on the Earthquake Engineering Research Board. No questions were asked by committee members. Chair Walton moved to strike "rejecting" from the motion and replace it with "approving," and to forward the nomination to the full Board of Supervisors with a recommendation.

Good morning, everybody, and welcome to the July 14th, 2025 Rules Committee meeting. I am your Chair Supervisor Shimon Walton, joined by Vice Chair, Supervisor Cheryl, and President Mandelman. Today's clerk is Victor Young. And I want to say thank you to Colina Mendoza from SFGov TV for advertising our meetings and making sure that they are available to the public. And Mr. Clerk, do we have any announcements? Yes, public comment will be taken on each item on today's agenda. When you're interested, uh item of interest comes up and public comment is called, please line up to speak. Alternatively, we may submit public comment in writing in either of the following ways. Email them to myself, the rules committee clerk at VICTOR dot y-o-ung at sfgov.org. If you submit comment via email, it will be included as part of the file. Please make sure to silence all cell phones and electronic devices. Items acted upon today are expected to appear at the Board of Supervisors agenda of July 22nd, 2025 unless otherwise stated. Item number one is uh motion approving rejecting the mayor's nomination for the appointment of Lindsley McLeese to the building inspection commission for a term ending July 1st, 2026. Thank you. And I believe Lindsay is here present. If you want to come and tell us about yourself and why you wish to serve on this commission. Thank you. Um yes, my name is Lindsay Mike Leese, and I uh was approached to take on this commission, and I think it was an exciting opportunity for me. I've lived here for almost two decades. I'm raising a family here, and the idea of contributing in this manner um was of great interest to me. Um I think I bring to the role a wealth of experience. I've worked for developers, institutional clients, and also individual homeowners. So I've kind of seen that range of what it takes to build. Um all of my work has primarily been in the Bay Area with a lot of different jurisdictions, including San Francisco. So I also kind of understand those inner workings and some of the other cities that how they work. Um in terms of service, I've served on the Structural Engineering Association Board, the AE Business Leaders Board, and currently I'm the chair for the Civil Engineering Department Board at Berkeley, where I attended, um, and I'm on the Earthquake Engineering Research Board. So I think I bring kind of those different aspects and look forward to this opportunity. Uh with me today, uh, I brought my coworker Renee Vignot, who I've worked with for the last 20 years, and Stuart Lewis, who is a architect practicing both uh residents of San Francisco. Thank you.
