Due to the provision of the governor's executive orders, N 25-20 and N 29-20, which suspend certain requirements for the Brown Act and the order of the health officer of the County of Sonoma to shelter in place to minimize the spread of COVID 19.

The planning commissioners will be conducting today's meeting in a virtual setting using Zoom webinar.

Commissioners and staff are participating from remote locations and or practicing appropriate social distancing.

The planning commission is charged with carrying out the California planning and zoning laws in the city of Santa Rosa.

Duties include implementing of plans, ordinances, and policies relating to land use matters, assisting in writing and implementing the general plan and area plans, holding public hearings and acting on proposed changes to the zoning code, zoning map, general plan, tentative subdivision maps, and undertaking special planning studies as needed.

And um I have been watching, and I did have the opportunity to talk with uh Commissioner Collie.

I was so sad to see him lead his uh experience with homelessness and affordable housing was such a gift to the commission.

Um, I was also able to talk with Bill Rose and communicate with Patty Pacheco, Greg, um, just appreciating their long, long relationship together.

Planner Kristinae Toomians requested a continuance due to a late request (received September 8) for English-Spanish translation services. Staff committed to providing translated materials and coordinating community outreach. Senior Planner Beatriz Guerrero Auna provided a Spanish-language summary of the continuance request.
