Slaughter) ending independent agency removal protections.
- Councilmember Morton attended the Public Issues Committee in Kirkland and toured a mental health facility.

Public Comments & Testimony
- Norbert Steele of Shoreline expressed concerns about the city's oversight of the King County Sheriff's Department, citing a recent meeting where a sheriff's official (identified as "Patty") described expectations as unrealistic. He criticized the department's response to ICE activities and the failure to fill vacancies despite a $9 million raise over two years. He urged the council to push back and demand better service.

- Authorization for a contract with Parametrix Consulting for $325,000 for surface water utility professional services.
- Authorization for an agreement with GFT Infrastructure LLC for $257,588 for security and technology enhancements design.
- Authorization for a contract for real property asset management and consulting services for $140,190.
Action Item: Appointment of Youth Members to Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Board
- Mary Reedy presented two candidates: Iris Peters (rising senior, Shorewood High School, Meridian Park) and Max Shima (rising senior, Shorewood High School, Richmond Beach). The council unanimously appointed them for the term September 2026 through June 30, 2027. Iris and Max will serve as non-voting members contributing to quorum. Councilmember Roberts suggested reviewing stipend amounts for inflation during the budget process.

And I encourage residents to join their neighbors for an evening of food, fun, and connection at one of the many neighborhood block parties being held for national night out for community. Brings us to our agenda. And the first item is approval of the agenda. Are there any objections or comments? Seeing none, the agenda is adopted by unanimous consent. And I will turn it to Bristol Ellington for the report of the city manager. Good evening, Council. I'd like to start by highlighting a few upcoming community events. Tomorrow marks the final lunchtime concert of the season. Join us at noon at Spartan Recreation Center Field for a performance by the Contagious Performing Company.
