Which tonight's public hearing is regarding the 2025, 2029 commute trip reduction plan update.

Purpose of the hearing is to obtain public testimony and for the commission to develop a recommendation to forge the city council on this topic.

So the process of the city is going to present its report, and then we the commission will be given an opportunity to ask clarifying questions.

I'm an assistant planner in the transport or in the transportation division of public works.

So tonight is going to be probably a pretty quick presentation.

I'll just really go over a brief recap of the presentation we gave you on August 15th.

Then I'm going to talk about some edits that we did make to the plan after the planning commission had its discussion.

And then we are also hoping to get a recommendation from the planning commission for council to approve for us to submit our draft plan to the state for their review and approval.

So first of all, here's some of the information.

We went over on August 15th.

As you are aware, the state did pass a commute trip reduction law in 1991, and it was aimed to reduce traffic congestion, improve air quality, and reduce the consumption of petroleum fuels.

They targeted the larger counties, the ones that had um worse air quality, and so Shoreline does fall under one of those counties, King County.

So we are affected by the law, and we are one of the CTR-affected jurisdictions.
