This evening the assembly is gathered to do interviews with a municipal administrator candidates.

Unfortunately, one of our candidates withdrew from the application process.

Josh, I understand they received a job somewhere else.

Was that correct?

Yeah.

So we got uh two interviews tonight, um, so we have been able to condense this down just a little bit.

Um, but excited to get the interviews started, excited to get this process going.

I think John's excited for us to get this process moving as well.

Um, because it does seem like it's been a little bit since we said we'd close applications for us to get to this point.

So looking happy, looking forward to to meeting everybody and uh seeing how they may fit into our organization.

Uh with that, Josh has an introduction for us, um, kind of some do's and some don'ts.

Um, I will add, uh, and he um will most likely mention this as well.

But in your email, uh, we have a another list of uh potential questions for municipal administrators in case the the uh other ones that Josh provided here didn't quite suit your needs.

There's another list of quite a few in the email.

So uh Josh, please good evening, Mr.

Mayor and Assembly.

Um first thing I want to start with is the uh the packet that I sent out regarding interview guidance.

Um if we can turn to page five.

Um actually let's turn to page four.

Um page four has what uh you know we'll we'll call the prohibited questions, and it is federally um federally protected categories, um, race, color, religion, sex, age, uh, physical mental disability, marital status, veteran status, things like that that result in uh prohibited questions that we have to absolutely avoid and not put the applicants in a position to have to answer.

Some examples of those questions are on page five.

Um, and uh so if you if you were planning on asking anything related to those, please uh nix them off your list.

Um not uh as um prevalent, you know, it's a little bit uh stuff that kind of happens behind the scenes sometimes is that small talk.

Um so be careful in introductions or whatever um at the close of the interview from asking anything that you might not consider an official question, but it could elicit responses that would fall underneath those prohibited categories.

Um at the bottom of their page uh six, it talks about statements for implied contracts.

Um so be careful about things that you say that might imply something for the future.

Um, have any questions about anything that's in that packet that uh before I go into kind of the process for tonight?

All right, it's yeah, it's pretty straightforward stuff.

Um I think the the process for tonight uh I've got the first applicant that is standing by right now.

Um, as soon as the assembly is ready, I will give them a text and they will uh join in.

Umce they are in um then the mayor will start with uh introductions and go kind of around Robin for introductions from the assembly.

Um we'll allow the applicant to provide a uh quick introduction as well, and then from there be round robin questions, um, starting wherever the mayor would like and including Katie uh in the process to make sure we don't miss Miss Her.
